- Female| 1 replyI received a voicemail from Dwight (forgot his last name) on April 4, 2014 @ 11:30AM PST claiming that the firm "UNION GROUP" is giving me an opportunity to settle a claim against me whose number is: 855-504-4765. (first, let me say in the voicemail, he said his name, was MY NAME, and seemed like he was confused as he was reading through a script.)
When I called the 855 number, I pressed "0" for the operator and a woman answered very rudely, I gave her the claim number, and she told me that I owed a payday loan from 2008.
When I said I didn't owe anything and that everything I have was paid off, she said I needed to show proof,
if not- I would need to pay the $515 they claimed I owed on a $255 loan.
If I wanted to settle, I could pay them $315.
They said they would only be able to help me if the "locator" did not reach me and give me "documents".
When I asked her what a "locator" was, she got an attitude and was surprised that I didn't know what it was.
I asked her if it was a police officer, or if they were trying to arrest me, and she said no. That it is just a "private locator" that was hired by a "private party" to give me "documents".
Still not stating what these documents were, she attempted to extract payment from me, and when I assertively stated that it was paid off and that I will fax her proof of payment, she quickly got off of the phone.
When I tried to call back the 855 number around 3:30PM PST, the phone just rang and circled in an answering system. No operators were available, no menu with extensions, no nothing.
UNION GROUP doesn't even have a website!
SMELLS LIKE A SCAM! DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!!

it's 5:14PM PST and I just tried to reach them agian, this time I entered numbers as if I were to connect to an extension, and IT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. THE MESSAGE JUST CYCLES!
"Thank you for calling Union Group, to achieve the highest level of customer service, this call may be monitored or recorded for training purposes. If you know you party's extension, you may dial it at any time. To speak to an operator, please press zero now."
it doesn't give me an error message, or "sorry, let's try that again", it doesn't say any of that.
SUPER SCAM!!!!!!!!! DON'T TRUST!!!!!!!!! - cali replies to FemaleI received a call from them many times, I would not answer and they would leave me voicemails saying they now have found my address and that this was my final notice they would give me, to please call them back.
I called them back out of curiosity, pressed 0 and spoke to a girl who told me they were trying to collect a debt from a check cashing place I had gone to in 2008, and if I didn't pay them or give them a base pay I would have criminal lawsuits against me for fraudulent activity. They tried to get my payment information, address, and last 4 of my social security number. When I asked for thier address the guy got offensive and said somewhere in the "fields", I laughed and repeated to him " IN the FIELDS"? OHHhh K! I asked why I have not received any paperwork stating these actions? He said they are on my on line statement. Is said I have no online account! He said " You are not getting me". I said " YOU are not getting me, and you guys won't get one cent from me because you are NOT a legitimate company, just a scam". He said "Well congratulations! You will have you account in default, and receive the papers in the mail bla bla bla. I said " OK great, I'll wait for those papers in the mail, which will NEVER come, have a great day!" And hung up on him. It is pathetic how people are out to scam you and take all your money. Be careful and don't give any information to them! They are a major SCAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!
