I don't know why they called. Someone named Craig and then switched his name to William demanded my social security # ,threatened my job and hung up on me.

Got a phone call from a woman who said " you are going to be served with a lawsuit on Monday ( this is about 4:00pm
Friday... I ask what who filed this lawsuit and etc.... and she told me to call a Legal Assoicates  who responded to the
name of Schmidt Law firm..
I called the number she gave me-  1-855-538-7490 some smart [***] guy answered, asked him who he was ..All he
would say he was a law office... I asked in what is this in regards to ( a very good question) and he again got cocky
and said how many people do you owe... at this time I confronted him on his con game... and reported this to my local
police department..
Clearly a new scam...
855 area code is a unassigned long distance area code so they could be anyplace..
I called this number back several times last night and this morning and got one of those fake busy signals

Unless you get something in the mail, there's no reason to pay any attention to the bogus instructions left by cold callers. Odds are anyone who chooses to call that number would be in trouble according to them because they're fake. If you don't answer unknown numbers in any way, you'll never hear a thing from these clowns and they can't threaten anyone without an answer.

I got a call from "No Caller ID," which I usually don't answer, but since I just started a small business, I've been getting all kinds of random calls, so I answered it. It was a nice man who said that they were trying to deliver a letter to me that required a signature. Since I was waiting for some legal documents for my business, I assumed that is all it was. Then the man gave me this number (855-538-7490) and a "case number." That's when I got suspicious. I have great credit, no outstanding debts. I've never been late on any payments, so I was really leery about this. The number is to a "debt collector," but like I said, I have no outstanding debts. It is definitely a scam.

They called and tried to threaten me about a civil suit. The man was very rude, his name was John. The "company" he represents is Legal Support Services. I'm reporting this company.
