- Missy P| 1 replyReceived a call from this number today. It said that they have been getting notification from my computer saying that it is infected with viruses, it said to push 1 to fix it. I hung up and dialed the number back. A man with a heavy accent answered. I asked what company I was calling. He said Microsoft IT dept. I then asked how he was getting the notifications. He said that my computer was telling them. I know this is not the truth. Microsoft does not make calls. Do not do what they ask. They will take over your computer and your information.

- Daniboyfriend got a call from this number, they said computer has a virus. They asked if he was home. He said no. Asked who he works for, got some sort of mumbled response and that he would call back tomorrow. Keeping an eye out for hacked computer and burglars. Ugh.
- Brett Bro| 1 replyI got called today. They caught me off-guard. Strong foreign accent, but sounded legit. They took me to a web-site that appeared to be a Microsoft site. Had me give them a password which allowed them to run my mouse and search my computer. Showed me a screen that showed I had 8,000 viriuses!!! Then started putting me on hold because it was too severe and he needed his supervisor!! I work from my home and live and die by my computer. I started feeling violated, like they had me on hold to download my computer. I hung up and shut my computer down. They called me back 6 times within 10 min and I did not answer. So mad about it, I have not listened to their messages!!! So glad I googled this number and I feel like an idiot now. Glad I hung up and closed off internet or bet they would have had me.
- LOUBGet calls from this number frequently. I NEVER ANSWER!! Any calls with an UNKNOWN on it I avoid at all costs. If you don't you might incur more than cost.
- JSuspected a marketing call did not answer. Left no message so sure it was.
- Rocco replies to Heather| 2 repliesI googled the alternate number you provided after getting a call from the 855 number earlier today. I knew that (315) was a Syracuse, NY area code. These scammers also built a hasty, error-riddled website to lure the unsuspecting into letting them "fix" the "viruses" on their computers. If anyone is interested: http://support31.us/index-2.html
Googling the (315) number also brings you to a company called BioEnable Technologies, which apparently has a physical office in Syracuse but is based out of India. Are the computer scammers spoofing the number? Or is this a nice cottage industry for the biotech company? - Hodgey D Headcan't someone catch this clown and shut him down? they, he, have been doing this for a year or more.....
- Caller: windows it tech
- Scott| 1 replyGot a call from this number and like many others state, a person with a heavy accent says my Windows operating system has notified him that I have a Trojan virus and he can give me step by step instructions to remove it. To bait the guy, I asked him if he could email the instructions thinking if he was legit he would have my email address since he's already got my number. However the person was adamant that the fix had to be done while we were on the phone. I asked him what computer was sending the notifications and he vaguely said my personal computer. Then I asked which operating system was sending the notification and he said Windows 7. When I told him I don't have a computer that runs Windows 7 he immediately hung up without another word.
- Mark replies to ScottGot my call at 4:30 am. Didn't answer. Blocked it this morning. Thanks for the info.
- RSThis is a scam. I received the same call. I then called the number back and like everyone else, a man with a heavy accent and possibly some sort of digital voice modulation answered and then proceeded to go into a diatribe on how (again, like everyone else) my computer (running Windows) had been compromised. I told him that I own a Mac and he promptly hung up.
- DBL replies to JenI got same phone call just now and reported it to Verizon.
