This is a scam! The caller states they are with comcast and they want to give you 2 premium channels for 2 years at $1 per month. Then they go through a question process where you have to state your etc. I hung up at this point. Don't want anyone having my voice stating my particulars.

This is definitely a scam.  Woman said she is from Comcast and offers two premium channels for one dollar a month for two years.  I asked a lot of questions, she answered them all.  Very smooth.  I didn't give her any information about myself though she asked for the last 4 digits of SS#.  I called Comcast to check the validity of the call and they are offering no such promotion and stated even if they did, they wouldn't ask for such info from customers.  Hang up and do NOT give out any personal info.

just recvd call from this # I worry about folks who believe this scam and do not have opportunity to check this forum out.   Comcast needs to do something about this. I|I wonder should I answer and immediately hang up? or blow a very loud whistle into receiver!

Call came in very EARLY in the morning, scared the heck out of me (thinking some family urgency) and woke me up, also.
Says unknown name.   I would love to see this caller arrested or at least lose their job doing any kind of telemarketing.

Comcast call to sell something.  They don't have the courtesy to have caller ID attached but when you call back the Comcast announcement "thank you for calling Comcast".  I wish they would stop calling.

What evidence is there that this is a scam?  My husband signed up for two premium channels for $1/month for two years.  He called Comcast directly and was told Comcast does not make that offer, but there are 3rd parties that are authorized to do so.  We started watching HBO and Showtime right away and later got a confirmation e-mail from Comcast indicating the $1/month charge.  If it were a scam, why would Comcast have turned on HBO and Showtime?

    >> What evidence is there that this is a scam?

    1.  The call was unsolicited
2,  The price is too good to be true
    3.  The caller wants too much information
    4.  You did not name the supposed third party companies.
    5.  Your statement is unsupported

I was only asked to confirm my name. HBO appeared 5 minutes after I hung up. The one strange thing was a cancellation fee.

Callers like this make me love the call block feature of my telephone - now all they get is a busy signal when they call me. Won't be long and they will stop.

It appears to be legitimate.  However, instead of speaking with the person at 855.556.3094 (which say they are comcast, when they call you, and when you call them), I decided to call Comcast directly at 855.896.3896.   This phone number was provided on a letter I received, from Comcast, which explains the offer of 2 premium channels for $1, as long as you agree to a 2 yr commitment.  If you drop Comcast for another carrier within that 2 yrs, then you'll be charged $75, possibly a prorated amount depending on when you cancel.   I'm not sure why Slim thinks this is a scam?  Yes, the call was unsolicited, that's how companies make money, yes, even the legitimate ones.  Is it too good to be true? When you think about it, they've got your commitment for the next 2 yrs, very smart.  As for the rest of his points, they don't make sense.

These people need to die of disease.
Soooooo sick of them calling and leaving no message.
Blocking does no good. They find a way through.

This caller calls daily, sometimes twice a day.  And from different 800 numbers.  Just as soon as I block one number, they call from a different number.  I'm at the limit of the calls I can block

Yep, its a 3rd party vendor.  I ordered HBO and Cinemax for $1 or month and I'm still enjoying the package.
