- Absolutely Amazed....| 1 replyI am absolutely amazed that there are people out there who use the tactic these idiots use over and over. The same story line from the same numbers with the same empty threats. These guys are ridiculous! The best part is when they call someone that is a relative of mine they are getting recorded so I have proof positive of the lies, threats, and comments these jokers make.
"This is blah blah blah from the blah blah LawFirm. I just received a notice today on my desk about a bad check charge blah blah blah. You must take care of this immediately or you will be served a summons for court. Blah blah blah blah....."
Please...file your paperwork, serve me a summons, let's go to court, and watch the $$ come back my way for violations of the fair debt collections laws. PPPLLLEEEAASSSEEEEE take me to court!

- J.S.| 1 replyI was called by a guy who said he had a summons for me about a bank issue but he would not give me his name or phone number or who he is with. He said he was hired by another company and gave me their phone number. It turned out to be 855-583-2047, and a guy named Brian said he was with Paramount Recovery. Sandra in her post identified the caller as Copeland Law Firm, which tells me already they are shady. Anyway, they were trying to collect for a payday loan that I already paid back through two different collection agencies (one went out of business and the second one said they took over the loan from the first one). According to law, they were supposed to send me a letter within 30 days saying I had paid off the loan but never did. When I tried to call them back, their phones were disconnected, so obviously they were shady, too. Now this Paramount Recovery is trying to collect for the same payday loan. When I told him I already paid it he said I was a liar or he would not have the file. I told him I wasn't going to pay one more penny to anyone when I already paid it. I told him I have bank statements and moneygrams showing this if he tried to take it to court. Anyway, he was a real jerk, threatening to call my references, etc. and also haul them to court. I ended up hanging up on the guy because he was so nasty. I think I will take Douglas' advice and ignore them. They are obviously another shady collection company.

- a 15yr cop replies to J.S.here is the deal folks.....these people call random numbers and do simple credit checks to find out who you might have had credit with...then they try and talk you into paying them by using summons threats...all a big scam...they are just waiting for you to bite the hook....has been going on for years...they are hoping that the person they call actually owes money for something and it makes the situation seem real....just ignore the calls!!!!!!
- i_guess_ill_pay_my_debt| 1 replyhey 15yr cop i have a question for you and everyone else complaining.... do you really think people sit and call random people hoping they pay for no reason? its people like you who take out loans with no intentions of paying them back... and tactics?? the thing is they can and will take you to court for bad check claims, it happened to me not by them directly but it happened, people think pay day loans are free money and there not ... dont learn the hard way buddy like i did.... there are repercussions for not paying a pay day loans, its like writing a bad check you dum dum!
- and you wonder y people call ui guess if nobody actually owed a debt they wouldnt have to deal with this.... heres some advice to everyone PAY YOUR BILLS YOU BROKE [***]
- sazu| 2 repliesThis company is a scam and they are being investigated. They are posing as a lawyer which they aren't. They are claiming that you owe for a bad check on bank that doesn't even exist. Don't send them money. I don't know why they can't get a legitimate job and work like most people instead of trying to steal from others.
- Caller: scam artist
- amazed replies to sazu| 1 replyhow is a bad check a scam? i was just wondering??
- not Michael replies to amazedThe scammers some how get names of people who have financial problems now or had them in the past. Those people become the victims.
The scammers call the victims and demand payment of an old debt, often a bad check. But that debt never existed. If the victim pays the scammer keeps all the money. - amazed| 6 repliesto not michael: its amazing how many people actually think these people call random people prentending they owe a debt hoping they pay doesnt that sound a little far fetched??? i mean the person that owes knows 100% they took out the loan and never paid it back! truly amazing what people think and how far away from the truth it really is......
