She called and asked for me by name, then refused to giver her company name.  I hung up.  She called back immediately.  I told her she was a scam and she stated that I was an emergency contact listed and said Bull! and hung up again.  Caller ID said private the first FIVE times she called.  She left three identical messages after that.  The fifth time, she called from the number 817-768-7373 and the Caller ID read "Wiiliam Brewer" (Notice that William is misspelled).  Caller states her name as Veronica and says she is calling to demand the attention of  "my name, my maiden name, and a few other names all mixed up" - like from a people lookup site.    States a case number beginning with DA000-00, in reference to a complaint forwarded to her office that is registered against me. I need to call her at The firm and control of my case at 855-597-1483. Now if there is no response from you, then the Firm will be forced to make a decision on your case without your consent.  Good Luck.

I recall another caller with the same "script" and representing themselves as the Internal Revenue ServiceS... I am reporting both numbers to Texas State attorney Generals Office and the FCC

I keep getting these calls and each time it is different No. An namr.  Same case mo. Wish they would jus tell me what the dang complaint is about.. It did not start for about a year till i tried for credit. ??

Same girl has called every single day since this post.  Today I told her to cease and desist all future phone contact and that contacting me more than once a week was illegal.  All future contact should be done by mail only.  When I hung up, she called back again!!!

Got the exact msg today on my cell phone. Her number came up restricted. Same lady called my sister in another state looking for me a week prior.....How do i stop these calls?

This phone number is for a legal office run by TCF & Associates, also known as the Calvary Firm.
On my first response to a voicemail similar to those described above I spoke with a man who introduced himself as Bernard Gates. From my conversation with him, it appears they are doing their due diligence in an attempt to find the respondents for the case number(s) left in the voicemail. It turned out that the fellow they're seeking has a name similar to mine but the birth date didn't match. Upon this revelation the man told me to disregard the message since it obviously doesn't apply.

My advice for what it's worth; DO NOT give any details, personal or otherwise. Get them to narrow their own search parameters to determine if you are in fact the intended recipient of any correspondence. Remember too that a legal firm can not divulge any particulars either unless or until you are identified as the correct person. They appear legitimate to me. As such, they will remove your number from the accumulated list of possibles for the intended folk.

I've selected 'call type' as "debt collector" although from the conversation it seems it may be a bit more than that.

Returned their call (1-855-597-1483)  and they said they were TCF and Associates and a civil legal matter was being filed against me and wanted personal info verified.  I have zero unpaid debt and refused to give them any information.

Jus got that exact same call calling me and my family from 855-597-1483 saying she's from the district attorneattorney's office and if I donot respond they will be forced to make a decision on my case?!?!  Mary Logan was the reference name. With the same DA000-00 number attached to it.

My son called me today saying a lady from this number called his mother my ex wife whom I have very little contact with , demanding to my where abouts ! The lady then called my two sons demanding the same ??? the rude lady then called my number and left a rude message ?? In the first place how and where did she get my ex wife's number? And my two sons numbers? And my number? Is it legal for this person to call and harass whomever she wants ? Also whomever has filed a formal complaint against me defiantly has the wrong person , because I owe no debt and have no qualms with anybody ,I am thinking maybe some has stolen my identity and put a bad name on me ????

Phone number 855-597-1483. Lady left a message on my brothers phone saying a decision in my case will be made without my permission. Only identified herself as Minnesota State DA office. No county or city. Like everyone else the number was blocked. If she does call me I have an app on my phone that will search all number weather anonymous or not...even though most reverse search companies online want you to pay for any info found on a number...my app never wants any money ...it will identify the number...who it is listed for....their address...county...city and state it is from. Free of charge. It will also let me know if it is a scam....collection agency and the such like. This isn't the first rodeo for this ole boy. Maybe I should sue for large amount of money against them and see how they like it.
Never give any info to any business or person over the phone if you do not personally know them.

Report them to your local DA.  Impersonating a public prosecutor is  surely a crime.

Total scam.  If you were the subject of a pending civil case, you'd have received a letter from the attorney for the other side.  They'red be a paper trail.  YOU would NOT have heard about it from some scammery-scummery debt collector who cold calls you and demands money.  Ignore the calls and block them.

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

Refusing to give the company name, calling repeatedly to harass someone after being told to stop - all violations of the FDCPA - so definitely NOT legitimate.

As near as I can tell TCF associates (a phantom)  is the reincarnation of     something called  Atkins Armstrong & Partners
Series debt scammers; their fave trick is to cold call and say they are with the local DAs office.  Ignore and block their calls.  Report them to your local public prosecutors.

Also contact your local attorney general  There's no such thing as a Minnesota DA office.  DAs are county officials and are usually independently elected.

I got the same type of call this lady did, and the woman named Veronica said the same things to me, it's definitely scripted, with a case number and threats.  She asked both for my dad, who's dead, and my little brother.  I hate these people!  I called the 855 number and the guy who answered had some lame response when I told him I could put him in jail for threats, and other such behaviors.  He swore up and down that he could not hear me.  Jerks.

The poster "Kevin Gates" is in fact "Bernard Gates" from the collection company. He trolls this site and others to see the response to his illegal collection calls. We have been actively route tracing his IP address and MAC address for some time in order to compile evidence for legal proceedings against his firm, and naming his debt collection persona "Bernard Gates" in particular.
