call me saying that there is a outstanding civil suit against me and I dont know from what or who but will turn into the local law inforcment

This guy has called me the last 3 days in a row to tell me he is coming to serve me papers today. He gives me a claim number and phone number 855-626-4380. To call back to confirm or reschedule the appointment. This is rediculous. I can't find any information on this phone number except this site.

No one gets a heads up they'll be served - the court process server just shows up.  And no one gets a chance to "reschedule" being served - how ridiculous is that?  Next time he calls, let the guy know you're recording all calls he makes to you to give to your attorney - since you'll be filing your own lawsuit against the caller for multiple violations of the FDCPA.

NEVER pay any caller who refuses to MAIL proof that a debt is yours and proof that he/his company has the legal right to collect said debt.  Any caller who refuses to mail this documentation is owed nothing, per the FDCPA.

No, he's not.  Real process servers do not give you a courtesy call you'll be served - they just show up, papers in hand.  Report the caller to the FTC, FBI, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.
