Last calls leaves message trying to summon named person to court....no company name stated and wrong number.

I got a call from these people thing that they were going to sue me or take legal action against me for a credit card from 2006 from Wachovia bank. But when I called Wachovia - get details they said that the account has been closed and I was free and clear. Although I've called back numerous times after and gotten a couple of different stories but for the most part I believe that this is a total scam

I got the same thing but they did give me a bank name. This debt was from 1996. And they're trying to sue me now 20 years later? I'm beginning to think its a scam too. Something is just not right here. I seriously doubt that I'm that important to these people that they would still be after money 20 years later.

Statute of Limitations on stale debt is 6 years in most states. The summons talk and case numbers are standard scare tactics.

Yeah they just called me for something from 2009 again wachovia, total scam

Got a call from this company states I owe for a Wachovia Bank Account in 2006.  Called Wells Fargo whom handles Wachovia and there is not balance due.  They actually called someone I just met looking for me.  I asked for information to be sent to my home, let's see if I get anything.
