Called 6/22/11. Gave the name  “Chad Collins”
Said he was from the “Private process division of Jackson County”.
Uniformed officer will come to my place of business or my residence unless I contact them back at their litigation department within 2 hours.

Same bogus bs here. I had two hours to call back or uniformed officers would arrive at my place of business......
First off....if there were a summons a process server would do that in person.
Second, they are using scare tactics to frighten people into a settlement., highly illegal.
Third, if they were an up and up agency they would be happy to tell you the name of their business, they will not. It is some fly by night operation who bought some bad debt at pennies on the dollar hoping to scare the mess out of some poor sap who doesn't have the money to pay anyway. Nice try...

Just received a call from a "withheld" number (my first alert that something was not right) sent the call to voicemail. The message was from Dean Flectcher who said he was with LLD and calling in regards to a court case and to use the reference number when calling and it was to be filed in my county of residence. He left the above 800 number. He never said what court case, nor have I received anything in writing, ever. So I decided to google the number and found that numerous people are receiving the same fraudulent calls..
Thanks you to all who have posted your experiences with this mystery number. You are all awesome

Is this a scam, though? I had a credit card through HSBC Orchard Bank, and they sold it when I couldn't keep up on my payments while unemployed for a year, and not collecting unemployment on top of it. I found out HSBC sold my account to a company called LHR in Dec '10, who in turn sold it to Capital Exchange Management in May '11 [where of course no one answers the phone], and now I'm getting calls from this place called LLD threatening to serve me with a summons and sue me for literally 12x the amount I ever owed- unless I settle for an amount well in-excess of double my original debt. What do I do? Is it safe to ignore this? Are they legitimate?

HSBC cc the same conversation as below..NO summons but they have claimed a uniform officer will be delivering and I will need to go to court.  They wanted me to settle with a debit card within 24 hours for close to $900.,. ya right! I don't have it and I told them I didn't so I said I would wait for my summons and go to court, we will see but I feel better seeing all these posts now, I have never been to court and I don't like the idea of scammers taking advantage of people that are struggling!!

The company is called LLDE based in Clearwater, FL. based on the information this seems more like a scam than anything else. Please visit http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/menus/consumer/credit/debt.shtm for information about debt. Also you may want to check your State Attorney General site to see information about debt collection.

I have gone to the FL Department of State Division of Corporations site at http://www.sunbiz.org/ and found the company listed under Fictitious Names

I just started recieving calls from anonymous and in the message it says to call back before they file in court. I've called the number back however, it doesn't ring and hangs up right away. If this is a scam, it's annoying. If not how am I suppose to prevent them filing anything if their number isn't valid?

Kept getting calls from this number. My husband got one at work and they told him they were going to come to his place of business and server a warrant. We were being sued for a debt. Well, I called them and talked to them. At first I believed them. I called my husband and was talking to him about it but the more we talked the more we realized that something didn't add up. So I didn;t call back. Three weeks later I got a message from a Brian O'Connor wanting discuss my legal matter.  This is a fraud and would like to know how to get them to stop calling me. When they call my cell phone number they are calling from is withheld but they always tell me to call this number back. It is a scam.
