Got a phone call from 865-622-6293. The rep. vaguely explained that she was from  the "Civil Procedures Division" ...calling to verify if I would be home on the following day for legal papers to be delivered to my home.  When I began to ask questions, the number (855-633-2603)  was given for me to make any further inquiries.  I hung up without further conversation.

I was given a case # 13Z176138. What is this in regards to?

Who is calling my family in NY state and looking for me with this number 855-633-3603?????

I got the same call just minutes ago. I can't get any answers or anyone to answer the number they provided

I got the same call stating I owe for something and I can pay 1000.00 or legal papers would be brought out for court I believe it's a scam

If you are targeted by these criminals, be sure to report them to all the following federal and state law enforcement agencies (most of which you can do online or over the phone):
1.    The U.S. Secret Service is responsible for protecting the country's financial infrastructure and payment systems from international and domestic threats. Call or write your local Secret Service field office to alert them to the details of this attempted extortion. The addresses and phone numbers for the local Secret Service field offices are listed at http://www.secretservice.gov/field_offices.shtml or in your phone book.
2.    Alert the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov Be sure to tell the FBI that you are being targeted by extortionists over the phone. And if the crooks claim to be law enforcement or lawyers, officers of the court or bankers, be sure to include that information in your report.
3.    File a complaint with your local police. Most police departments will take a report over the phone.  Be sure to tell them that you're being targeted by an extortionist and give them all the details.
4.    File a complaint your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.wvago.gov
5.    File a complaint online with The Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en
If these crooks call back, promise them nothing, pay them nothing and tell them nothing other than that you know they're a scam and that you've reported them to law enforcement. (And be sure to report them to all the agencies above each time they call you.)

This scam isn't technically about credit cards, but it is scary enough to post a warning. The Better Business Bureau issued an alert today saying consumers across the country are getting phone calls from bogus debt collectors claiming default on a payday loan. Of course, the consumer needs to pay a large fee to avoid arrest -- as much as $1,000.
The caller poses as a lawyer, and may threaten extradition to face trial if the consumer doesn't pay up immediately.
What makes these calls alarming -- and perhaps convincing -- is that the perpetrators reference the consumer's personal information, such as the person's Social Security number, driver's license number, previous bank account numbers, home address -- even personal references.
"The amount of information they have is really troubling," says BBB spokeswoman Alison Southwick. She adds that the amount of data points to a possible security breach.
Spread the word to your friends and family: Don't give out personal or financial information to an unknown caller. Scammers can spoof Caller ID to display different numbers, so trust your instincts over technology.
The BBB offers these tips:
•    Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation which substantiates the debt.
•    Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have confirmed the legitimacy of the call.
•    File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission online if the caller is abusive, uses threats or otherwise violates federal telemarketing laws or the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
•    File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau online if you believe a debt collector is trying to scam you.

Called back this number after my grandmother and mother passed along this number (855) 633-3603. The provided me with a case number and told me that I will be served with a summons the following day. I spoke to a "lawyer" from this number and was very upset with me when I tried to get answers. I asked it this was true then why didn't I receive any information in the mail. The person got agitated with me since I was upset and wanted answers and did not like the way they harassed my family. It is scary how much info these people have on you. I even looked up the case number in the court systems here and found nothing. I think it is a scam but I will be contacting the proper authorities in regards to this matter.

Got a call from1855-633-3603. Its a scam ..I never been in trouble with the law..and it's just sad that there are people out there who do this..I reported the number to verizon fraud department.and they will be dealing with this..so don't buy into this crap..don't anwser or report them to the fbi

Its a scam they did the samething to me this morning..asking when I would be home to drop legal papers off..and had a case number..its all bull dont let it get to you there are sick people in this world its just sad!

It is a scam, same info third time this has happen in less then a year , they just change payday loan name,  2009.  Will be filing complaints .  18556333603. Fake name Ace Management, could not give me any  info.

They keep calling me to saying there gonna drop papers on me and stuff

It just happen to me I called this number I can't get anyone on the phone I knew I wasn't in any trouble but it scared me I thought who knows these days you can get in trouble just for looking at someone maybe I did something wrong and didn't even know it but I tryed this number 3 times and never got anyone

I just got a similar call and similar case number to you. In my case it was T-mobile saying i had  a balance from years ago that I dont even remember. So if you dont call them back they say you will have to apper in civil court and pay up or they take away you r car or something.

I got a call from this company saying that they need to dealer some important court documents to my home, refused to give me any more information. I just hung up the phone.

Yes I just got a call from 855-633-3603, they said they were delivering papers to my house, and I ask them my address and I dont even live there, this is a bigtime scam...BEWARE...

Yea so some guy calls me threatening hes going to serve me papers to be summoned to court. Than I ask him for a number so I can further investigate. He gives me the 855-633-3603 number, I call them and they transfer me to "Joyce Kennedy" who says her Direct line is 888-332-2135. She says I can either be summoned and go to court where they would have 25% of my check garnishered. Or I can pay $1986.32 of the $5000 debt and be squared away. They say it was a debt from Westcom Credit Union, which is in California, Ive never been to the West Coast. Yea, I just remember getting a call similar to this months ago and the guys name was "Tom Sawyer". So now I know its a scam . My Main concern is they have all my info, my job number, My social, address in Ga and SC... what should I do? Do I need to do fraud alert and block my credit on Credit report. com.

Put a block on your social security number ..so they can stop them from useing it.and report the number to the fbi and law enforement..!!

if these losers have any of your personal information such as your social security number, date of birth or drivers license make sure you register with identity protection notify the credit agencies as well as your banks!!
