    So not too long agoI got a call when I was at work and a supervisor pulled me aside to talk to me regarding the message that was left. I was told I had charges and a claim against me and that someone was coming by to bring me documents to appear, at my work. I work at a hospital and was so surprised to hear this so I called the number on my break. I check my phone and had a few missed calls from family I don't normally talk to as well as a friend, my boyfriend, and a few from a local but unrecognized number. I also received a voicemail from somebody named earl stevens saying the same thing my manager told me. I called in and spoke to someone and hung up because they were getting personal, I did some research and found this site, now I called to say its a scam and give them a piece of my mind but a nice woman named Jackie calmed me down and after I verified my info it turned out to be due to a payday loan I took out that I completely forgot about. Personally I like to pay my bills on time, but after Iwas as reminded of the time period in which the loan was taken out, I knew, it was when I  was on disabilIty I realized then, that I didn't pay it off and it really made me feel like a dirtbag. I ended up getting back on my feet and landing a good job. I truly thought this was a fraud until I was reminded of my past. As weird as it is writing this, as I was ready to add my negative input, it really made me think about what I did, I didn't mean to defraud anyone, it was just a tough time. I must say, although I had to repay my debt, I feel a lot better with myself. If this was a scam I'd not have payed that's for sure!

    This is a total scam. Do not pay any money. Report them to the BBB, law enforcement and any other. "Comprehensive" is not a legal company or entity.

    I got  a message from this number saying i had a charge and claim against me and leaving a reference number, that this was my one only notice. A Mrs. Jackson was the name and sounded very forceful, she did not explain what the claim and or charge were about. I called the number listed and a voice mail pick up that no one was available to dial 0 once i did it said to leave a message, when i tried it would not except it. Not sure what this is but I have reported it to the proper authorites. The things people will do........

    I got a call from a local number saying that they were a carrier with papers. They claimed the documents are sealed so they don't know what it is. They only said they had a reference number and phone number which matched the one here. 855-647-7115. When I called the amount and date of the loan didn't match any that I had ever taken out so I'm not sure who or what it is.

    Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
    Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

    Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

    Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

    Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

    Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>
