Collection call

I got a call from this number and they said they were representing the Ga. Dept Of Revenue. I have not lived there in over 21 years. Why would they call me now?

Who is this and why are they calling.  Shouldn't communication be in writing?

I received a call from this number. Automated message wanted me to press 2 for spanish and ...I hung up.

they said they are calling from the law firm and want to very personal information....  don't give them anything!!

Received calls from this number at diff. times of day...never leave message...I don't answer calls that I do not recognize number.

I got a call from this number yesterday, they wanted to "verify" information from the GA Dept of Revenue.  They said they are an attorney trying to collect a debt for the IRS!!  Just a note, the IRS doesn't work with a collection agency.  If the IRS wants to get their money, they either do a levy or garnish your wages!!  This company even said it was a LAW that I had to report my move!  DON'T EVER give this number or company any info!!!

I just got a call from them they said i had a tax lien against me for the IRS and it would show on my credit report but my credit was pulled through my work and GUESS WHAT NO TAX LIEN and they said it was in the amount for state taxes well the amount i owe the state is WAY DIFFERENT than what they tell me

i do owe a small amount too the state of georgia,,,,but who is it that calls

They are a SCAM!!!  They NEVER leave a message and if I do happen to pickup the phone when they call, they say they are Bass & Associates and want me to PAY them money I owe the Georgia IRS for 2009 tax return and then THEY will pay that money to the GA IRS!!!   HA!  What a scam!  They want me to give them ALOT of personal info and then they get an attitude when I refuse!  I checked my 2009 tax return, I received a refund AND I called the IRS, they know nothing about Bass & Associates.  I've now installed a recorder on my phone and if they continue to call and continue their scam, I will take legal action against these scumbags.

They are not a Scam, they are a collection agency that works with the Ga. Dept. of Revenue in collecting debts owed to the State.

Bob I don't know who you are but you are full of it!!!  No state agency uses collection agencies for debts and they certainly wouldn't be calling relatives, co-workers or acquaintences to try to collect ANYTHING as there are privacy laws protecting all of us; and believe me I know this to be a fact!!!  I believe that they ARE a scam as they are now using the name of Dillman and Associates whereas they have also used the name of Bass and Associates.  These people won't give any information other than they are calling on behalf of a client; they refuse to give an address where they can be reached (that alone tells me they are not on the level).  My advice is to ignore them, report the phone number to the FTC, BBB and the Attorney General in your state.s

I have NEVER lived in Georgia, so how vould I owe the State of Georgia anything? These people call me multiple times everyday for months now.........

i just called the GA department of revenue myself and they did contract debt to bass and associates... get verification yourself by 877-423-6711... YOU GUYS STOP PUTTING THINGS UP TO CONFUSE PEOPLE AND THEN THEY ARE HELD TO MORE OF A LIABILITY BECAUSE OF PEOPLE NOT BEING HONEST WITH THEMSELVES...

So you really think all of the people here who posted that they owe nothing or have never been to GA are lying? Or that they should just pay whatever someone on the phone says they owe without questioning it? There are too many sleaze bags out there. Smart people don't just believe these calls and fork over money blindly. They check them out.

You are all ignorant, if you owe your bill then pay. Bass & Associates P.C. is a law firm that is contracted by the Georgia Department of Revenue to assist with collecting UNPAID STATE TAXES. They have nothing to do with the IRS so please people stop referring your UNPAID STATE TAXES to the IRS. Also if you search google you can find their address....it's people like you that keep collection agencies in business. PAY YOUR DEBTS!!

Agave, you are absolutely correct. They are scammers. I also received a letter saying I owed taxes for 2009 & 2012 from a company call IC Systems. First I called the company to ask how they got my information. The lady answered the phone as if I was calling here home with an attitude.  She never introduced herself and was very persistent in collecting money from me.  My 1st question was "if I owe taxes from 2009 & 2012, why is the GA Dept of Revenue & IRS just now turning my information over days after tax season and after I have received my tax refund. Agave, as you previously stated, the government will get theirs by any means necessary and the won't wait 6 years to to it".  Any way, she was very rude and would not take no for an answer.  After a few minutes of her rude behavior, I hung up and called the IRS. The IRS agent had not heard of the company, there was no tax debt for me and the agent said that I should contact the Dept of Treasury @ www.treasury.gov/Tigta.  These companies are affiliated with what the government calls the "Dirty Dozen".

In case anyone is interested, they have nothing to offer to validate whatever claim they have.

From personal experience, these shysters get their info from long dead cases and just try to
get whatever they can through intimidation. If any authority had a debt to collect, they would
contact you. Don't give these idiots the time of day.

If you are one of the weak minded people who think these people have something legitimate to do,
you just proved my point.

They are real collection agency for the I. R. S don't pay your debt and don't get a tax check go to the I. R. S website you will find Bass & associate on there I had to pay so why not you
