- MeYeah dont let these jugheads scare you. I was told that they were calling from my town in the processing and summons division and that it was regarding an outstanding debt. I had to call them back to make arrangements, OR , they would revoke my license and arrest me on check fraud. I just want to call them back so BAD and tell them that these lies and scare tactics dont work with me and laugh at them, but then again I dont want to even aknowledge them because then they know that they have the correct phone number and that they "got my attention" with their ILLEGAL scare tactics. SO, I will just ignore the calls. So, people please dont let what they say get to you because everything they are saying is a lie DO NOT send them money because they CANNOT arrest you or take away your license. The only thing they CAN do is if you legally owe the debt, is send you to collections and send you an actual valid bill and give you time to respond. SO DONT EVEN RESPOND TO THESE PINHEADS!!!!!

- NevermindIf these losers want to call and use illegal scare tactics to try to get me to pay - they aint getting paid. If they send me a legitimate bill and be reasonable and negotiate a payment arrangement- they will get paid. They chose to use the scare tactics so screw you and have fun calling my number and getting NO RESPONSE!

- SunnyNTexas| 1 replyThese crazy people called my job threating me and my coworker about a debt that didnt exist and that they would garnish my wages and take my license if I didn't pay a debt I don't owe. I contacted the company that I said I owe and no such debt existed. When my coworker and I called back after contacting the attorney general of TX about the matter the number was disconnected. This was 2 days later. Talk about a scam.

They are very crafty scammers . Please people don't fall prey to these scumbags. - SteveHere's the thing. I'm posting my experience with these people. They claim they are from Audubon Financial Bureau (Very Fancy, lol). They called about a couple of outstanding "payday" loans that i took out in 2008. That was the last time I remember taking out a "payday" loan. In any case, I settled those payday loans already. They didn't want to hear it. They said there are bad checks from my old bank account from 2008 (for security purposes, I cannot give the financial institution's name). I told them, that's false, because after I paid back those loans, I immediately closed that account and opened a new account with another financial institution. They didn't want to hear it also. They use 'scare tactics' on me because they seriously believe I was born yesterday. In any case, I have not nor will I ever give them any information or authorization simply because the issue was taken care of already from my part. Some people advised me to report them to the Better Business Bureau, local Law Enforcement and the FBI. I might end up doing so. But then again, nothing happened to me so far and nothing ever will. A word of advice from me, please be calm, cool and collective when they call and don't be "bullied" by these people. You know your finances very well, and there's always going to be that one person(s) that try to bring you crashing down.

- Fel| 5 repliesI have been receiving calls from Audubon Financial Bureau for weeks now. They claim my account was sent to them from Cashnetusa. And that if I don't pay I will be served with papers and my wages will be garnished. Now, I know I owe money from a loan I took out. But I wanted to know who I am actually paying this to. So I called Cashnetusa and they told me my account was sold to Debt Management Partners. When I contacted them they said Audubon Financial had my account now. So it sounds like they really do have my account. But they refuse to send me anything in the mail showing proof of my debt. I want to pay this off and stop all these calls.. but do I really pay them when they are refusing to even send me a letter of collection??

Nature of Complaint: Billing or Collection Issues - The company has unethical collection practices
Problem: This company is calling about a debt for my brother in law. When I called them (number left on my voice mail: 855-666-1467) I asked them not to call my cell phone again. I told them they did not bother to call and check my brother in law's references when he applied for the loan, so please do not bother to call me now when trying to collect the debt. The lady told me they can legally call me once a day and was rude and hung up on me. I called back and tried to explain to the gentleman who answered, said he would transfer me to the lady I was speaking with, cut me off (or hung up intentionally). I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor, was told "no" and hung up on me again. I called the local number that appeared on my caller ID (214-484-0064) They answered twice and hung up each time without saying anything, the next call they answered with"F*** off" and hung up. I called back 4-5 times and it was just pick up and hang ups. I called from my work desk phone and spoke with a gentleman, who was nice enough to help me and said my number had been removed.- Caller: Audubon Financial Bureau

- HEATHER MOOREThey are calling themselves ABS and Associates now and somehow got my co workers personel cell number after I had put him down as a reference on a pay day loan that I had paid off. I did not give anyone my co workers personal cell. This is illegal and once I can track down an address for them i will send them a letter requesting they provide proof of debt and tell them that calling a third party on his personal cell phone is illegal as I never provided it.

- TracyI just purchased and activated my 5th grader's cellphone this morning and, just moments after she returns from school, this UNNAMED company calls her cellphone asking for 'Armando Gutierrez' and demands 'he' call them back at 1-855-666-1467. I have marked the number as SPAM in the cellphone's contact book and told my child never to answer unless her father and I call. I suppose the pre-fix '666' should have been a clear warning!

- AmyGot a call at work from Chris at AFB saying I owed a $1500 CashCall Loan and what was I going to do about it. I told him nothing at the moment, he then proceeded to ask me was my supervisor here, which I said no. Then he asked me what time I would be home. I told him I didn't know and he said "have a valid id ready" and hung up the phone. I do have a loan in default with CashCall, which I am aware of. I later tracked down the company by calling Cash Call, who said they sold it to GB Investors. GB said they outsourced it to AFB. A lady at AFB answers, I tell her the story and asked her why this guy would tell me to have my id ready. She said she didn't know but that was his way of doing things. I asked her specifically NOT to transfer me to him, and she evenutally puts me on hold and this [***] picks up. Whole thing again, they want me to pay them $450 and $250 a month for 6 months. I said I don't have it, no way no how. I can pay $100 a month and that's it. I'm willing to work it out and pay what I can. He proceeds to place me on hold and then some 'director' picks up - John Abrams - who is an even ruder [***]. He tells me I can't call and state my terms since I defaulted on a contract. I explained to him that all creditors I have worked with have been willing to negotiate as long as I was making good faith and paying something. He said his client wouldn't accept it, that I 'robbed peter to pay paul' and all this bs, badgering and berating me over it. I told him if he would not do anything then I would like to know if he's call the state, US, whatever Atty General to begin civil suit to garnish my wages. He never answered this question. We did this round and round for about 30 minutes, slowly escalating as I continued to explain I could pay $100 a month. I don't want to get back into the same boat. I have kids to feed and bills to pay that are way more important than this, I don't receive federal assistance, I'm going to do whatever I have to do to take care of my children and that's how I got here to begin with. Finally he basically hangs up on me. I call GB Investors and repeat this story to them. The gentleman there set me up @$100/mo to be re-evaluated in 6 months. He was pleasant, and well mannered. He also said they are launching an investigation and his next call was to the compliance department to see if there was a recording of the conversations, and disciplinary action would be taken. Point is: These AFB folks are [***], but I do believe they are a real company. If there was any way I could prove the convo, i would file a suit. When I asked the Abrams guy why this person would tell me to have my id ready and hang up , he said for (in so many words) a subpoena. I told him that was a threat b/c he didn't explain this to me, just threatened me and hung up.
