- lori replies to debtorDid they state they were sending over a judgement to your empployer and also wage garnishment to be served. They need to have court order for that correct
? - ANNOYED| 1 replyI had recieved calls before from an Audubon Financial Bureau, stating that I owed for a CashNet USA internet loan. Mr. Simmons threatened to have me severed with papers and I would be sitting in Cook County jail by morning. I got scared and sent up a payment plan. BIG MISTAKE!! the payments were taken by a Marvell and Associates, whom was never discussed. and when I called CashNet USA, they said they never dispursed any funds to me and that Audubon was a scam. I wasn't the first to call. Called the credit card company and now have to dispute every charge that comes through from them. Called them back and said I had to change method of payment, my credit card was no longer good, but they still keep trying to take the money and have also increased it. Now they are calling from different numbers. different people. and now they say they are from AFB & associates, like I can't figure out what the initials stand for. THEY ARE A BIG SCAM!!!! I've asked for paper work from them, never got anything. The credit card company asked the same thing, nothing recieved. DON'T FALL FOR THEIR SCARE TACKTICS!! THATS ALL THEY ARE!!!!

- Smarter Than That!Received a call stating that they sending over a judgement to my employer and also wage garnishment to be served. However, they stated they are faxing my employer on a date that is before the date that they are contacting the local county court. Nobody can garnish you without first taking it to court and giving you the chance to appear also. You cannot be arrested for owing a debt. Those days are gone. Sorry, I can ignore your threat tactics and pay my debt at my pace. Thank you Dave Ramsey for the smarts to not give in to the sharks and pay my debt.

First, I know it's a scam - been through it all before but I wonder if anyone knows if "serving" legal papers by voicemail is allowed - just curious. Couln't find that info on the web.

- pickles2456| 1 replyreally weird, when they call it shows up on the caller ID with a 262-478-0892, but when they leave a message it's this 855 number. Is that a scam? I want to call, but nervous to answer
- mr green thumb| 1 replyGot a call from a local (205) area code and when i answered they asked to speak with me. I said that I was not it and she left 855-666-1468 and said if I didnt call Renee back within 6 hours then I would be subject to having a wage garnishment. Stated that she was meeting with an attorney and that they would be filing a judgement against me in the legal division of civil court. I told her she was full of it and that she should find another job making nine bucks an hour because she was a terrible liar. She laughed and said that I was correct and hung up. I borrowed over 2200 dollars from 6 different companies and guess what? A lawyer said other than attempt to damage my credit there is NOTHING these ppl can do. The loans they give online are actually illegal in most states and they CANNOT place a civil suit against you because of this. Just FYI--do it at your own risk--but i did this over a year ago and nothing has happened yet.--THIS COMPANY is just a middle man trying to collect on Pay Day loans that havent been paid back. They have no legal standing to take ANY action on these debts because they didnt loan you the money and the loan was possibly illegal to begin with. These loan ppl should burn in hell for the interest rates they charge so i decided to use them the way they use us. I hope they all go broke

- nedley mandicoyep, same here. they started leaving me messages with other numbers, not saying who they were. I called one back and after the same bitchy-sounding woman answered for the 6th time, I told her I was calling to reschedule my appointment with Dr. Scholl's and I must have the wrong number.

- not falling for itkeep recieving calls from a block number asking me to call 8777719163, claiming they are from AFB & Assoc. Fraud dept regarding a matter and that me or my criminal lawyer need to call within 24 hrs and they always end it with Good Luck. I havent even responded because i dont know why they are even calling me. I know that they would have to at least take me to court first and send me info in writing and neither of those have happened. Im not falling for it, the next time they call i will ask to have documenation in writing before I proceed with anything they are talkig about, lets see how long until i see something in the mail.

- a.d.s| 1 replyAFB & Associates are collecting a debt against me for CashNet. They will set up a payment arrangement, and then call you every 2 hours because they have "lost the notes" or "they won't be able to do anything until the 1st payment is made". Once thats made, they charge an additional $6.95 per payment. So 3 payments could cost you an additional $20.85 which isn't in any of the paperwork they are more than glad to repeatedly email you. They are rude, they yell, and when they don't get the response they want, they tell you to stop yelling at them.

- vagoSo i got pretty much the same as the rest. a voicemail threat claiming if they dont hear from me by today, ill be facing charges for defrauding a financial institution by friday. i already knew not to worry about it, but punks like these scare the crap out of people daily. If your in debt its probably cause your like everyone else, having a tough time in this economy. Your main concerns are food and shelter, last thing you need is someone scaring the crap out of you when your already stressed and worried about more important things. i would love to catch one of these guys on the street, give him or her a taste of their own medicine

- LizThis happened to me from a company by the name of National Attorneys. For a payday loan from over 5 years ago. I called the company which I did make the loan from but they had no knowledge of that firm. I spoke to Natl Attys and said I can send a check or money order after they send me an email or a fax from them and they said they cannot do that and only would accept a credit card over the phone. I refused. Got agents supervisors name and number. Told them I was reporting them to the better business bureau and I haven't heard from them since. Knock on wood.

- AndreaJust got a message from "Renee" stating my husband needed to call her back because we haven't returned their phone calls and they are sending a judgement to our county court on Tuesday. She also said if he didn't respond then good luck in court. Also, said to consider himself served by receiving this message. REALLY?! Whatever... Yes we borrowed money and paid part of it back. But it's whatever, can't squeeze blood out of a turnip.....

- Tina| 1 replyI just received a call from ABF stating I was going to be procecuted because I owe a debt. I know I owe it, I have never denied that. I have only one income right now. I got scared and called my county prosecutors office and they told me it was BS. They said they would tear up the paper work because it is a civil matter. The prosecutors office said the next thing they will be doing is telling me the sheriff will be coming to arrest me. They said to call back at 1-877-771-9163 they also use a (262) area code on some calls.

- TrinaI received a phone call from a Mr.Santarini (Agent #334831) at AFB & Associates stating that I was going to be prosecuted, my wages garnished, a tax lien placed against me and I could be arrested because of fraud. I listened to what he had to say and took very good notes. I called CashNet USA and spoke with Evelyn who looked me up by my phone number and my social and stated she had nothing on file for me. She apologized and stated that it sounded like I was a victim of a scam. She stated that my debt had been sold to a company Debt Management Partners (DMP) www.dmpllc.biz 1.800.883.9067. I called DMP and spoke with Lacy who stated that my account was sold to another company (AFB) and that is who I would need to speak with to clear it up. I then decided to called Online Applied Advanced America 1.888.686.9563 with whom I actually had the account with. I spoke with Kimberly who looked up my information and stated I would need to speak with the collections department 1.888.686.9577 as the account had been placed with collections. When I spoke with the Collections department she informed me that the debt had in fact been sold to 3rd party collector AFB...so looks like all roads do lead to AFB...

- CYReceived a call from a man telling me that I needed to call MS Howard today that on Thursday I would be served at work with a Subpoena to appear at the Count House or be arrested
I told to serve the Subpoena and I would take it up a lawyer- Caller: would not say
- CamposGot the same call today asking for my brother. Bunch of lies and definetly a scam. Also If any collectors call your work, it's considered harassment and you could sue them. Often if they call your work, try to record the conversation or ask to speak with their legal department. A friend got called at work and asked for their legal department. They ended up canceling all debt because they knew they could be in big legal trouble.

- Brandon Spruill replies to debtorActually AFB is a legitimate company, Its some people from India posing as AFB as well that are scaming there name..... I did alot of research and spoke to my family attourney.... But as one of the post said they can't take you to Civil Court because Online PDL's are illegal... But if you have any debt with Cashnet USA or there Sister Company they send your info to Debt Mngt Partners which there number is 1-800-883-9067- which then sells it to AFB the legit one and AFB contacts you trying to collect the debt but the only thing that will happen is it could mess up your credit......
