i have no clue who this is can anyone tell me who they are

I received a call stating that there are charges and a claim against me. I was instructed to call 855-681-1070 with my claim number. This is a scam, and it's not the first time that one of these scammers have left a message like this on my phone! I would like to know how to get them to stop!!?

Same message, they have repeatedly called my grandma also SHADY!!!!

Same message today except they said it was someone else in my family that had a charge filed against her. It does seem like a scam-but what are they after?

They will claim that the person will be arrested unless they pay a 'settlement' right away.  That's what they are after, money.  Dont give it to them.
If there is no notification of a debt by mail, then it is not valid.

called my mothers house said if I did not call back today he would be by with papers and they have also called threatning my 16 yr old daughter!! I am about fed up

I have received several calls instructed to call this number. They say they are Comprehensive Processing Firm and that I can settle a debt or receive papers to appear. I have asked for proof of debt. Told by them they do not have to provide it bc they are a processing company and not a debt collection company. They will however take payment. I have not problem paying who I owe but do not want to pay scammers. The company they say the original debt was from is out of business. Not sure what to do.

Spoke with the Dept. of Banking in my state and was told that this company nor the company they say the loan came from are licensed in my state. Advised not to give any information to them until I receive something from them in writing. Also told that I may need to speak to an attorney to find out more on what to do in this situation. You can call the BBB in your state to see if any complaints have been filed against them. Also check with your county court to see if any papers have been filed against you. They must file in your county.

they called my house they called my mother's house and my 1st 2nd and 3rd cousin's house. but it wasnt them who was calling it was a locator. i looked up there number on here and took everyone's advice and didnt pay them a dime. and today papers were handed to me. thanks alot! thats the last time i take anyones advice!! the debt that i owe is actually a loan i DID take out and i should of just paid it. because now i am actually being brought up on charges.

They are legit.  I just called and it was a loan that I had taken out.  Be aware, they will bring charges.

If u r a victim of this type of harrassing phone calls @ home or work it is called harassment n u can file charges against them. Spoke to my lawyer n he stated that it is a telemarketer trying to swindle $$$ from innocent people who don't have a clue about the right steps to take to becoming a victim. If this person has an accent, it's a scam. If not just play that reverse psychology on them. Can you believe it that they will call a prison facility n harass federal govt agents as well...

Yes they do have to prove all that is claimed  Meg.   If they call again,  Deny owing the debt.  Demand the Name of the Company to whom the debt was originally established,  and the date the debt was first established. Demand that they send you,  in writing,  verifiable proof and validation of the alleged ORIGINAL DEBT  from the original owner of the debt.
Tell them that you wish to obtain, for purposes of legal consultation,  all written information which is deemed pertinent and that you have legal right of access to,   and that they hold pertaining to the original debt and that which validates  their claim.  This includes their legal right to own and collect as well as verifiable proof of any legal contract that may exist with you and the first and original owner of the debt.   One special note.
If they acquired this debt from a company who is currently out of business,  you are in a perfect position to demand a complete record and accounting of any and all payments made to the original owner of the debt,  the dates they were made and the date of the last and final payment or activity on the account. Then, make a few phone calls.  Most civil attorneys will offer some legal council.  Then get on the internet and review your ritghts,  whether you made the debt or not.   remember that your states statute of limitations can play a roll in this too.   And lastly,  You can bet your bottom dollar that this is a scam.  All of the information that I have given you would be effective if they were a legal collection agency.  They are not.  they are trying to get you to panic and fork over the coin.  Just trying to get you scared into giving them your cc number or electronic check or walmart  prepay debit card.    Don't play their game...If you don't have any existing debt out there,   don't worry about it.

Well Buba....If you took out the debt,  and knew it was your legal debt,  and you failed to pay it,  why did you come to this board the first time whining and looking for a way to get out of it???  you are incredibly stupid to whine on this board about poor advise if you legitimately owed the debt but failed to acknowledge that you  owed the debt.    Also,  you Scammers need to learn a little more about how the court systems work here in the usa.  First of all,  You don't get "brought up on charges" for non payment of a loan or legal lending debt.
There are no Debters Jails in the usa.  You must be sued for non payment of a defaulted loan.  You will be given a summons,  it will be noticed in Your nearest local newspaper,  and you must respond and show cause that you do not owe the debt,  Then you go to court.  If you fail to go to court,  the court takes the word of the plaintiff and truth and you can be legally bound for the plaintiff's judicial award.
You are a SHILL  Scam Booster just trying to make it all sound believable so people here will go ahead and get skinned.   You're kind are pitiful.....

Here's the deal,  If you owed the debt,  knew you owed it,  had legal proof from the lender that you owed it,  then quit your Whining and crying and pay the damn debt and stop trying to convince others here to pay debts that they don't owe and have no knowledge that they owe.
