My grandmother who is disabled got a call from financial crime services claiming to be from CheckMate calling for payment on a loan from 2008. She has never opened an account with any loan services. They told her she would go to jail by Christmas if she didn't pay. They said that they opened up a Gmail account on her behalf so that she could electronically sign a document. I called CheckMate and they do not know who this company is and said that that is not their process.

I received a call today from Financial Crime Services regarding a check I had written to Auto Care Plus back in 2010. They told me this was a program that is offered so I wouldn't get in trouble for the check. I will admit I did bounce a check and forgot about it due to a divorce. I don't know why NOW they are doing something but I had my attorney check into everything and its legit, the crappy part is a have to take a financial management class or something and I am NOT looking forward to it.  BEWARE do not do payments, if you pay in full the will take most of the fees off for you.

Christopher is so right, I took out a payday loan through CheckMate years ago and that helped me take care of it before it went any further.

Xena - I sent you a PM on the public site you just registered at - if you can retrieve it, it will let you know how to get on the private, totally shill and troll free site.  Hope you make the jump there.  Also, you maybe could make a post on the public site so that Herman can see your presence there :-)

I'm having trouble navigating that site! I tried to post on the public site, but it wouldn't let me 'cause my name was already taken? I'm heading back there now to see what I can do!
