New number, same ol story...  Called my father, grandfather and mother last week.  My Brother today.  They have a different number anytime they call.  They have yet to call my number, or send me any mail.  I've lived at the same place for more than 3 years now and have had the same phone number for almost 2 years.  From reading in other forums, it seems like these guys (Which have a different name every time they call) buy old debt that is coming off of your credit report for pennies on the dollar.  They claimed to have a court summons to deliver to me.  Thankfully nobody gave them my information.  When I called to inquire about it they wanted my SSN, which I refused to give.  I'm curious if anyone else is receiving similar calls and/or got a name of the company so we can look them up!!!

Called me saying they had a summons to deliver.  I asked who they were and they gave some law firm sounding name that I can't remember.  I asked who they wanted and they said Edward Kersee (sp?)  I said no one lives here by that name and they hung up.  they called my cell phone which is not a number I give out except to family.

Got a call from this number claiming they were from a credit collection agency and that they were sending a sherrif to my house to give me a court summons. They rattled off all my personal info including ssn. Its a scam...spread the word and let get these guys put behind bars.

I did some research and the same guy who is 'partner' in Feldman, Mead and Assoc. LLC (the name of the company who called)...is Mark Goolsby...he also co-owns M&A Management LLC and Mvi Global Management LLC. All three are based out of FL. Upon further research there was a man by the name of Mark Goolsby arrested three times in FL for employing people without licenses and also fraud. I find it hard to believe its not the same guy.

I just received this same call!! This "compnay" gave me the number to call Feldman, Mead, and Assoc. LLC. They spat out all my recent personal information including my ss#. Claiming I had a credit card account with Bank of Delaware (quick google search shows this "bank" was a major scam back till 2008). They claimed they've mailed me several times and sent an officer to my house to serve summons. I inquired why/if I was default on a credit card from 9 years ago has it not appeared on my credit report. They tell me that's not always the case. WTF?!? Every credit card will appear on your credit file from what I understood. Maybe I'm wrong on that, but this is horse crap. They really pissed me off in the middle of my work day. I reported both numbers and names to FTC.

Recieved a call today from 866-378-8333 asking me if I would be home tomorrow to be served papers.  I asked what the Hell they were talking about and they gave me a number to call and a case number so I called to find out what this was about.  They told me they were feldman mead & associates and they were taking me to court if I didn't pay them $800 today on a credit card that was in collections with a balance of over $3,000.  I asked what card and they said some Delaware bank so I told them I never had a card from Delaware bank and they argued with me and said I did and they needed payment today.  They told me I payer on it for 3 months so I asked them to send me what the dates were I paid on it and for how much and they said they didn't have that information.  So I told them they were not vertigo anything from me cause it was not my card and I hung up.  I then checked my credit report and it said I had no collections judgements or liens.  The 3 credit cards I have had my entire life all said paid fully and closed.  So I called them back the guys name was Adam Kennedy, I tried to explain to to him that I had no card on my report from this  and I had  cards in collection.  He said I was wrong and argued with me so I then said I was calling the attorney general and he got mad and said I could do what I wanted but they were gonna take me to court.  Don't.really know what to do now but I'm not giving them any money until they prove to me it was my card and not a scam.  But I'm betting its a scam.

Section 809 of the FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf explains what third party debt collectors must give debtors at initial contact. Legit collectors provide them, your caller did not and is likely a scammer.

Company is a scam... they call ramdom connections trying to locate you, stating they are attempting to serve papers for a civil lawsuit.  They tell what appears to be every caller they are collecting on an old credit card account from the Bank of Deleware.  Most forum posts show they ask for about the same amount of money, saying the amount they are suing for is around $3k+, but they would be willing to settle for around $700-$800, and push to get you to pay over the phone.  The company name is fake as well.  I even checked my active credit monitoring... no such account ever listed.  When you ask too many questions they appear to get frustrated as they cannot provide answers.  They even tell you they get approval from their "director" who remains nameless and they will not transfer you to him.  Their phone on-hold does not identify the company, just cheap on hold music.  When prompted for more information about the company, they don't give it to you.

I've had the exact same experience with this Feldman Mead and Associates.  I called the State of Florida and was referred to  http://www.flofr.com/Consumer/Complaints.aspx   to file a complaint against them.  The site also lets you look up their license information, and they just got a licese in June 2012 that expires December 2012.
