- Very UnhappyI have received several calls from 855-727-3700. They gave me an address and SS#. They have called my cell phone, my work number and my mother, who is in a different state. I don't know if it has anything to do with this number, but I have gotten calls from at least 20 other 855 numbers. When I call the numbers back it says the numbers are no longer in service.

- Realtor DI got a call from this number and they told me they were from the county clerk's office and were looking for a person who I know. I asked what county and he told me california so I knew they were FOS. I am a realtor and they were trying to get the number of one of my clients. I am reporting them immediately to ftc.gov. Obviously they do not adhere to fair debt collection practices. 855-727-3700

- Dave| 2 repliesI was called 3 days ago by a John Kane and told I was being taken to court for a credit card debt I had a few years back, unless I agree to settle the debt. I refused to pay them because I can't afford it. Now I have to go to court because they are now persuIng for the debt and risk getting my wages garnished! :(
- Call type: Debt collector
- Fu2 replies to Dave| 1 replyThey're not going to "persulng" the debt or take you to court. They have to prove you owe a debt, in writing.
- MiaAll you have to do is call them back and tell them NOT TO CALL YOU ANY LONGER... and that you have contacted your local D.A.'s office and have provided them with THEIR number for further questioning....
- Call type: Debt collector
- Regina replies to Fu2That is not true. He can have a default judgment entered against him (if they are in fact going to sue) even if he does not show up for court. The wage garnishment is based upon state laws and in a lot of states they take more than what the collectors would have agreed upon as a payment arrangement.
