- MichaelVery annoying. Get called everyday and nobody speaking.
- Resident47| 1 replyThe calls will be mostly from Mumbai, else from western New York. The dysfunction exhibited by this agency is staggering, even before we get to its long history of FDCPA violations, including when it was still known as Account Solutions Group.
Whether you are called a debtor or some collector thinks you can flush one out, you have rights and options. Many are simple to exercise if you only learn how. You are entitled to proof of claim and fair treatment. If one or the other is not provided, the collection agency should *not* win your assets. You are granted control of how you are contacted, the right to dispute debt claims, and the means to sue violators at low cost. The FTC and the CFPB can start you on your homework. See also if your state laws grant additional or stronger rights.

- Lady DiWoman with thick accent saying call may be recorded asking for employee who hasn't worked here in over 4 years. Said she would remove our number . . . we'll see!

- Call type: Debt collector
- TC| 1 replyTwo calls today, one yesterday. About fifty last year. All asking for my late step-father. They are persistent, but I always tell them that unless they can tell me what they're calling about, they can't speak with him. They always say, "It is a personal business matter." Frankly, they're polite and businesslike. You can learn more about this company at http://www.firstsource.com/us/services/collections

- Resident47 replies to long sufferingFor just over six dollars you can send a notice by USPS Certified to quit calling, placing the agency in a legal trap. For that excessive call pattern I would think hard about suing even if the calls did end as ordered.
FDCPA § 1692d. Harassment or abuse
http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/15/1692d - Resident47 replies to TCYou're in an endless loop of disclosure versus privacy. FSA can't answer your questions because you're not the alleged debtor, your stepdad, who of course can no longer respond. Saying only "can't talk to him" implies that he's still alive, which is not helping either side. The collection agency in this case should be seeking the estate executor if there is one, and not try to pressure other family members to pay for what isn't their problem.
FSA's reps may be "polite and businesslike" to you, but their autodialer isn't told when to quit calling, and they will find dozens of ways to violate laws if you let them. - Can't get rid of that smell!A lot of people are now finding out that debt does not die with the debtor. The attempt to collect debts of a deceased is the fastest growing section of the swamp. As these debts are throw-aways & bought for pennies, the profit return is great. I won't dwell on the smell test.
