I got a local call telling me to call this number. It was someone identifying themselves as Brian Willinsky of CAO Associates, claiming to be a private investigator, telling me that a claim had been filed against my SSN# and that this would be proceeding through the local precinct, or whatever, and to either call or have my legal counsel call 855-808-6053 within 48 hours. I smelled a scam, and researched this phone # and got a message indicating that this isn't a valid phone #.

I should have added that the phone # showing up that Brian Willinsky called from is (707) 403-0183. I have it blocked.

I got the same call to my cell phone same person also brian. but he was calling from 310-299-0431

I got a similar call.  Brian Willinsky, "Private Investigator" for CAO & Associates... Supposedly he has 48 hrs to file a claim against me.  It keeps going to my work number, so I need to figure out how to block it or report it to security.  It comes up as a local number 512-645-3195.

I got the same call and get it every 2 days it seems only he calls from 815-415-1242.

I got a call today from 855-808-6053.  Guys said his name is James Bronson with CAO (extension 305).  He asked for my wife by name.  He said it was in reference to her father, who he mentioned by name.  And that my wife is the Emergency Contact, he cannot talk to me.  I immediately pass this on to my wife who calls in a panic.  She reports back that it was some sort of scam.  ...The things I would do if I found these creeps.

I smelled the hint of scam when I asked what CAO was and James said "Uh... It's just an acronym".

Same scam as the other criminal enterprises masquerading as debt collectors. If you talk to a live person, tell them you expect everything in written form and will NOT discuss anything on the phone. Don't let them scare you. There is nothing they can do outside the court system. They are all bark with no bite. Recognize them for the cowardly criminals they are. If they threaten to come by your house, tell them you'll invite the police department too you'll have a party. Believe me, they never, ever show up.

My ex mother in law got a call from James Bronson sayng he was an investigator looking for me because there are criminal charges agaisnt me. How are they getting my other families phone numbers?

Received a call this morning from a Carbondale, PA #570-280-7800. Listened to message and it was a recording from a Brian Willinsky supposedly a P.I. with some [***] and bull story about criminal charges. Stated it would be in the best interest to call 855-808-6053 to give statement.  This idiot calls every couple days.

855-808-6053 been calling my job  everyday.  I called the number and asked for the address to the company, the lady on the phone said we don't give out our address.   "SCAM"

Same thing happened today.  Brian stupid Willinsky. It's funny because I've received this call several times for the last few months but the company name he's representing has changed three times. I've had 72 or 48 hour deadline for the last 3 months. Bologna.

I triple dog dare them to come to my house. Rural residence, "No Trespassing" signs everywhere! A person could get lead poisoning out here like that. I reported them to the proper authorities, so they are, and already were aware of them, so it's them what ought to be afraid of the authorities.

I also received a voicemail from Brian Wollensky (sp) from CAO Associates (855-808-6053) and I spoke to Miranda O'Toole about a pending case against me for not paying an internet loan I took out from 2013. Never took out such loan, and mentioned very pertinent information about me. She also said that someone may potentially come to my house. I received a similar call a few months back concerning and threatening the same thing, but, of course, nothing came about. Definitely a scam, because I've never received anything official through the mail, etc.

Received the same call.  Call came through as a local number but with a message to call 855-808-6053.  They have also called my mothers house.  They called about a month ago every couple of days and then stopped for about a couple of weeks now received a call again today indicating I had 48 hours to reply.  Do not answer these calls..they are scam artists.

Same call as above only from a local number in my area.  I am passing this on to my local authorities and they can take it from there.  This person/people need to be be stopped and I am going to be working with my local authorities to try to do something about this. I will post more when I find out more.

I received a call from the same phone number on Friday, 6/5/15 and today, Monday 6/8/15.  Upon searching the name and phone number, SCAM came up!

I received a call from this company first on 6/5/15 where they stated my husbands name saying he had 48 hours to respond to the call. I called this morning to try to find out what was going on after being in a panic. They stated it was due to a non payment on a payday loan that he took out back in 2013 and that if I didn't pay they would be going to his employers office tomorrow where they have already contacted his payroll specialist. Seeming my husband was deployed in 2013 and works on a military instillation, I began to smell a scam.

Called my job with this crap.. Who can I report them to?

This "James Bronson" persona comes up in a variety of scams calling from different phone numbers and CIDs.  Pretty confident this 855-808-6053 is in fact located in New York state.   I called that number and she said the CAO stands for Civil Application Office .   Another phony DBA.
