I got a call from this number saying I was summons to come to court

I did too, completely out of the blue. I think it is a scam, somehow they have gotten my family's numbers!

Me too. They called me, my husband and my in laws. I'm not sure how they obtained my in laws number. This was their message "I'm contacting you in reference to a complaint that has been forwarded over to our office. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the pending action being filed against you then you will need to contact the firm that is directly handling your file. The number this firm provided is 855-809-3166, and you will need to reference your file number XXXXX. They will need to need to hear from you within 24 hours otherwise they will be forced to make a decision without your consent. Please be advised that this call is being logged and submitted as proof that _____ was notified of this possible claim being filed against you".
By any change are any of you purchasing a home or vehicle? I'm making a huge purchase in a few days and wondering if that has anything to do with it??? I've heard where some companies sell their information to other companies and wondering if this could be it.

Yup. I got a call from my brother, in a different state, because this number called his landlines looking for me. His landlines isn't in his name, and they left a threatening message for me. Pissed? Very. I don't have any debts that would even be in collections. I called the number after blocking my number, and got a voicemail asking for name, phone #, ss number and address. Lmao.... no.

Yes it is.  Read the other posts.  Ignore and block these calls. If you were the subject of a pending civil lawsuit, you'd have received a letter from the attorney for the other party.  You'd have a paper trail.

Then, if a case was filed, you'd have received a summons delivered to you by someone licensed to serve process in your locality.  You would NOT have first heard about any civil law case from some scammery-scummery debt collector who cold calls you and starts demanding money.

You can check this out yourself by simply going down to the local main civil court and checking the defendants civil list.  The court clerks are usually glad to help and are familiar with these kinds of scams.

I got a call with the exact same message as above. I'm not aware of any such "complaints", and the fact that neither "the firm" nor the alleged complainant are identified is incredibly suspicious. I was targeted by a phishing scam looking for my bank account information a few days ago and suspect this might be related.

I got the same message - said it was calling to inform me that  a complaint had been filed and that this was being recorded as an official notice.  to call this number and give them my case number .   Glad I googled!  Scam, scam, scam!!    the caller gave me her name Shanika Moore, but never said who she represented.  My caller ID said private anonymous number.

I got a phone call stating a letter was attempting to be delivered but it was my old address. She said it needed to be signed for and the only time that happens (she claimed to be working with them for 8 years) was when someone is being sued. She gave me the 855-809-3166 number to call and a package number. She said the company was called G A Group and her name was Kelly Smith with United Way Services.

I've had all mail forwarded to my new address via the post office change of address form. Also, the caller ID showed "Private Caller".

Got the same message today, how do we make it stop??? Tired of this bull they don't even give you a law firm name

Scam!!!!!! They contacted my step mom looking for me. Scared me to death until I looked up this number.

I was called late last year , same type of call. I was told I had a 1431.00 debt to a hospital from 2003. I never got any bill from them. They said they had sent out a court summons for me but since I was talking to them not to sign for it. However this never came. So I forgot about it because they wanted me to pay with a credit card over the phone. Which I wanted a bill in hand. So they proceeded to send a Docu-sign in my email. I di snot look art it because there was no information on it anywhere. So today they contacted my family and they contacted me. I called the number and they lady said If you do not settle this by Jan. 31st you will be sent a summons on Feb 9th to go to court. I told her I will not sign nothing in an email because too many scams are going on. I need something in my mailbox that I have in hand. She said she could not do that and put me on hold. A man cam on the line and said he was with the law side of the firm. I said I need something in my mailbox. He said sure can you make a payment with your credit card. I said no I have no money I am not working. He said I will mail out the paperwork for you to sign for the payment.  This is giving me time to check with a hospital and to do my homework on this company. What I am finding is they seem to be a scam. Im checking with the better business bureau and a lawyer just to be safe. Im curious to see if I woill get anything in the mail and if I do to see how legitimate it looks. It was 14 yrs ago I was in a hospital…. really?

Called from an unknown number threatening legal action against my sister. Caller identified herself on the voicemail as "Diana Shaw" from "the Firm." Not the first time I've had a scam call like this.

My brother from Colorado just messaged me about a girl calling him saying that I have charges against me and would not give him any information. She stated that I put him down as working for him and my point of contact. Impossible..1. I live about 7 states away from him...2. I hav not spoke to my brother for about 2 years due to his traveling for work. Scam. What a Joke and waste of time.

I just answered a call from this number wanting to  know when someone would be home tomorrow bc they're was a failure for someone to sign for papers yesterday. Yesterday was Sunday and I was home all day. What the heck is going on?!

Tyep i jus got the same call....My wife was conversating on the phone to some kellys blue book site ans the next day i started getting the unknown caller threating to sue me or something like that. They used the same words that other posts are complaining about. " will need to need to hear from you within 24 hours otherwise they will be forced to make a decision without your consent. Please be advised that this call is being logged and submitted as proof that _____ was notified of this possible claim being filed against you".  Those are the words that was left on my voicemail.   ITS A SCAM!!!!
