    I just received a call from 855-823-2659 they are a group of scam artists, they will try to intimidate you with a criminal lawsuit regarding properties or debt... do not call them back they do not own the debt they are calling about...remember they can look anybody at any time via public records and old reports from credit agencies....if you owe something they will try to collect with scare tactics. Ignore them and block their # from your phone.

    A call arrived that caller ID said was "unknown" but I answered anyway. They claimed to be some kind of service that would connect me to a company wanting to serve me papers and asked me to write down a "case number" and to call 855-823-2659. Some guy answered wanting to verify who I am and he had my name and at least the last four digits of my SS #. I sensed it it was a scam and told them so and hung up, then I googled the number to discover I was right.

    Same deal as always. Called again this morning. They claim to be process servers, give no company name, gave the same o'l "this will be filed within 24 hours / we have papers to serve you / call this number, blah blah blah...."
    Total scam.

    You scammers need to get your act together. I got this same exact call a year ago stating the same thing, call within 24 hours or legal action will be taken, but yet in the call you do not say who you are or who you work for, you just want all my personal info. So tired of these damn calls all the time. In the last few years I have gotten them so many times that I automatically know they are scammers.

    I received an UNKNOWN call & they left voice mail, looking for my son regarding the property address on "Travis Street".  You know like in WHERE?, USA.   The female caller stated that we had to return this call within 24 hours to avoid legal action.  They gave a reference number, yada, yada, yada.    BEWARE!

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

    •Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    I got a call from this number, he wouldn't tell me anything except give me a number to call and verify my address.  I won't call.  He couldn't tell me what it was for, who it was from, but said he had a letter and this was a courtesy call to verify my address, BUT I had to call the other number to do it, he can't change anything.  REALLY????  I told him it sounded fishy and hung up.  They NEVER give up!!!!  AND he called me at WORK!  JERKS!

    Called looking for my sister -- who has never lived at this address and who has not been in the same household as me for over 20 years.  Claimed my sister listed me as a contact person, that they had documents they were trying to deliver to her and they were coming back as non-deliverable.  Gave me a number and file number to pass along to my sister.  Claimed the call was regarding "document delivery services," but could tell me nothing further.

    Highly unprofessional. When I called back to advise this company they had the wrong number they refused to remove my number, then hung up on me. When I called back to speak with a supervisor I got the same person, who ended the call again only this time they did end it with Have a nice day, then hung up. Still refusing to remove my number.
    They have never identified themselves.
