Called my phone, my brothers and his mother in law saying they were trying to deliver documents to the house and wanted to know if someone would be home.   I have no idea how they even have my brother's number or his mother in law for that fact.

I just received a call today.. he was from central department legal affairs and had court documents that where undeliverable .. And I needed to call 855-829-3989 to talk with Dana ward (a lawyer) to review my address so they could resend..
I can't believe they are using people that speek English with very little accent ..

Did you know it is ILLEGAL to claim to be a lawyer if they are not???  You are not warned if a summons is coming either. "central department of legal affairs"???  Sounds like a debt collector to me.

They had my first name wrong and needed my address .. I have no unpaid bills.. If this was real wouldn't they have my address

They called my sister at work stating that if i didnt call back they will arrest me... And they said i better call before 2pm called and dayna smith which her boss took the call an was very rude and said they will garnd my waged.. Has any of u got taken to court by them and garn there wages is this true

Same number called me also saying if i didnt call back ill be arrested. And they will garn my wages

First, a debt collector can NOT garnish wages.  That takes a court order.   Secondly you will not be arrested even if you did owe money.  That is an ILLEGAL scare tactic.  Phone calls are NOT recognized as an official notification (nor are emails texts, or faxes).
To answer Abby's question - yes, they should have your correct name & address if it was real.  The 855 area code is loaded with bottom feeding collectors (many hope to scare you into paying whether you owe or not).

I owe credit one bank from 2006-2007 the person I spoke said they been trying took serve me to take me to court..and said that they will start garnishing my wage and was very rude and hanged up on because I wouldn't give her my current address..

They left me vm saying to call Dana Smith..wow she has lots of names.   I also traced the number back to a Sprint Wireless number.   I had someone do this to me about a year ago, same thing told me I had court documents and they gave me  a case# after talking to them, 1 week later my bank account was hit with charges.  I reported it to the bank they said its a scam that his targeting a lot of people and they use the court system as a way of scaring people.

This caller is consisently calling my family and people outside my family.

They are doing the same to me calling everyone

Same thing today.  Get a call about a wells Fargo account from 05!  They said I'd be served papers and that wells Fargo was suing me for $3000 that I owed and went into default.  Stated that they'd settle for a one time payment of $1300.  Said pay this much or your going to court.  If I don't show up it would be a failure to appear.  Don't know what to think? ??

Called me and my employer saying they had court papers to garnish my wages. Stated they needed $1500 to stop a credit one law suit

Spoke to my attorney and found out that the statute of limitations for credit card debt is 4 years in California.  This debt they are trying to collect is about 10 years old.  It sounds like a last ditch effort to collect.  Be aware.

they said I did work here but gave no other info other than take a message and give to me. I was so embarrassed. I did some research and it seems like a debt collector scam. I reported it to the FTC and my local state attorney general office. It is illegal to harass you at work nor call to get information. A true debt collector will send you documents through mail not a phone call. I verified this with a friend that is an attorney.
