Just got a call, did not answer, and they didnt leave a message

Telemarketing calls offering to sell a space on their website to promote your business... they prob call everyone in the yellowpages.

Got a call from this number, they claim to be "Canada Business Pages On-line." They called to confirm business name and phone number to renew your subscription. I don't recall having agreed in previous years for this listing. I declined and was pretty upset about the whole thing. The person said that it could have been submitted by another agency such as a corporate company or Chamber of Commerce. I'm not part of either. What a joke. I had to get angry cause the person wouldn't stop talking.

I got the same call as vivian, they told me that they were sending me there information, and there billing cost etc. I'm glad I found this website cause they told me that if I don't pay that they will be sending a collection agency. I also asked them 2 remove my add since I never agreed 2 there terms. I can't believe I almost feel 4 this scam.

I received a phone call from a representative of this company this morning.  When I talked to them, they had all my information, and asked if it was correct to list on their website.  I confirmed their information, and the lady said I would receive a phone call from their accounts department.  Being a new start up, I had submitted my business information to several websites.  Going online immediately after, I tried to search for their website (it sounded familiar, but not correct) as to which I was unable to locate.  I called the phone number back, but received no answer.  I tried again, no answer (but with an introduction).  I then received a phone call back from the accounts department lady, who stated the call was monitored.  I requested more information, as to which she couldn’t provide.  She wouldn’t even immediately provide the website.  I asked to speak to the sales department again.  She said the lady would call me back.

I phoned the number again after a short little while and had a receptionist (who answered calls from multiple companies apparently) take down a note for me, which stated I was cancelling their service.  I then received a phone call from the same sales lady that I initially talked to, and told her I was cancelling their service.

9:34 am Accounts department phone call (Requested more information)
10:11 am Returned sales call (Cancelled account)

This Company should be banned from doing business. They do not tell the truth in regards to what they are doing. I cancelled this junk last year. It was a fight. They misrepresent what they are selling. I have informed them that i will move this to my legal deptartment. I do not excpect to get a return phone call. I will fight this to the end. The goverment needs to control the business practices of companies like this.They do not tell you they are recording the call, but when you try to cancell they play it back to you. If i am not mistaken they have to tell you the call is being recorded.

I agree with Kevin.  I have been dealing with trying to get this company off my back for over 3 months.
They call you and expect you to pay for putting up a listing which you can get for free from many services and expect you to pay without even seeing what they are offering.  What company does that!!!!  When you see the poor excuse for a site, which is not recognized by any search engine they say that they will send it to collections just like they said to  John. This kind of company should be taken down from the internet.  There really should be a watchdog from the government that can be contacted to deal with ruthless companies like this one.

Yes, got a call last week and then again today. Just like the ones mentioned above. I'm in NB, Canada. They asked me about renewing my ad, so I said go ahead and then they started asking for billing information and telling me how much it would cost. I said I never paid for any advertising from you before. Then she just carried on without skipping a beat.

I ran into a scam one other time before and lost about $600. In the process I spoke with the RCMP although I wasn't able to recover my losses, I hope the information I gave them helped nail these guys with some charges.

Anyone have a "success" story in getting this company to stop calling?  I have been getting calls since Aug 2012.  I have reported them to the Canadian -Anti Fraud, the CRTC link on the Do Not Call Registry, my local phone provider and am now going to file a complaint with the RCMP.  I have dealt with similar companies before and was able to get the calls to stop but this one is very persistent.  I have sent back every invoice & disc and told them several times nicely & not so nicely that we are not paying them for a service that they fraudently obtained.

I am in the exact same situation as you. I would love to hear as well if anyone has found a way to get rid of this persistent company  I have told them from the start that I did not want anything to do with them once I saw the poor quality of what they do.  I  am going to report them to the RCMP and the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully someone will be able to help us to put an end to this  company. They are just awful.

They called our store saying that we were with their company for advertiszing and webdesign and that we needed to re subscribe for 2 more years we have never used them before or ever herd of them this is deffently a scam we get calls like this all the time at our store dont give them any money ! ever even if they thretin you they cant do anything they are a scam

in a half an hour I have received 3 telemarker calls, I never pick up the phone, they will eventually stop, caller ID comes in handy.

Called about business to business advertising

I unfortunately fell for the renewal call, but luckily just told them to send an invoice, so I haven't lost any money but now I cant get rid of them and the constant calls, all from the nastiest person I have ever encountered over the phone....I assume its because they get so many businesses trying to cancel when they figure out that they've been had. I have reported them to the Competition Bureau of Canada. If anyone has gotten a call from this company and could even just tell it was a scam, just report it, it takes no time at all online at BBB or the Competition Bureau. The only way to get rid of these kind of companies is for everyone to report them.

Yes I have also received this annoying company calling just about everyday.  I am in NS.  It all starting the same way as the others here, just a call wanting to renew our listing and they recorded our message and play it back to us when we tell them we did not want this service.  They call somedays over 6 times in a row and also sent another invoice for 30 days past due and a new amount of over 6 hundred.  They will never see a nickel out of me.  It is a scam.  Lets just say they are one in a million.  People just stick to your guns.  Never send them a cent, ever.  They will get caught eventlually.  Next time try and screen your calls or if you don't recognize the name on the other end just do not say a word, just simply hang up.  Do not let them upset you.  You did nothing wrong.  Just report them as I did and keep hanging up.

Contstant phone calls daily wanting money for posting a website add for our company.  We did not order this service.  They do play recording of my voice sounds like I am saying yes you their service, I did not say yes to their service I said yes to my name and my address they asked if that was correct and I said yes.  The phone call is mocked.  Theyare calling sometimes 8 to 15 times a week over and over.  I do not answer then the call under unknown name and unknown number I still do not answer.  I am on the canadian do not call list.  I hope this stops.

Theses people continually hound and do not take you off their call lists. Thought this was against the law.

These ppl phoned me and gave me their pitch.  Being a reasonably new business I cautiously agreed. Next I received an invoice for over $600 for their "service" I've been telling them ever since I've changed my mind and DON'T WANT THEIR SERVICE. The rep on the phone told me "It's too late.  The works already been done."  I don't know of any legitimate business that doesn't give customers a 30 day trial or has a return policy.  Now they're sending me stuff on my fax.  I sent it back telling them to cancel this service.  I've blocked them on my fax and phone.  I just wish these ppl would stop!!
