Twas receiving threatening phone calls on my home phone stating that i owed for a worthless check issued in 2005 to subway in the amount of $16.63. When asked to please send verification of this, the company called themselves new hall fraud investigators and they had been hired by wells Fargo to collect. so i called wells Fargo they checked on this information, and could find no such check existed. Two days later while i was at work i received a call from this number stating that i had promise Anna Harding that works for new hall investigators that i would get a prepaid credit card and pay her in the amount of $306.62, that i had not honored my agreement. I told this person i had called wells Fargo and no check existed, the person became threatening and stated" Well you better stick both your arms out and slit your own wrist because you will be arrested immediately". I don't own a checking account or a credit card it is appalling to me how people can so unrelentlessly prey on people. please beware.

I just got a call from "Mr. Sims" telling me I owed $1212.00 for a NSF check from 2005 for $3.16.  He told me I had to get a pre-paid credit card to pay.  He stated his "company" New Hall Investigations does not accept a bank issued certified check!!!!!!hummmm.  He threatened me that he would "come to my door", but refused to send any documentation so I could verify who he was.  He stated the DA would issue an arrest warrant if I didn't pay.  I called the DA myself and was told "sounds awfully fishy to me".  So sad people stoop to this level to get money.......GET A JOB!!!

You [removed:lang] should not steal from people by writing bad checks then you wouldn't have to worry about going to jail. Nobody gave you credit when you wrote them a bad check.

You can get call blocking apps for smart phones, some of them will identify some spam calls. Your phone manual may tell you how to block or your provider.  Otherwise, see if you can assign them a silent ring tone, and see if that helps.  If they call from different numbers make your regular ring tone silent and assign everyone you want to be able to ring the phone another ring tone.  Anyone else can leave a message.

Debt collectors are supposed to abide by the same time limits as telemarketers.  These guys sound like either fake debt collectors or junk debt buyers.  They try to collect on time barred debt, discharged in bankruptcy, paid debt, debts belonging to other people, they don't care.  They get the wrong people a lot of the time.  It's possible this is the junk debt buyers, the fake debt guys seem to call a lot more often and they call everyone they can find and tell them they are putting you in jail for check fraud.  Usually if they don't send you validation in the mail, it's either fake or it's uncollectible.  If they want Western Union or a prepaid card it's a scam, if they were legit they would take a mailed money order.  By the way, you can't be arrested for a bad check or any other debt and it is illegal for them to say that.  Neither of these types want you to have a corporate address so you will know who to send a cease and desist to (or a lawsuit.)

also [removed:lang] the nsf checks that you and your low life company that is trying to collect,,i bet are way pass the SOL and that means YOU CANT DO ANYTHING,YOU CANT SUE the only thing you can do is try to use scare tactics and only low lifes do that right [removed:lang]
in todays world IDIOT i doubt if any business has accepts paper check, in the last 10 years because they all have a DEBIT CARD TO PAY..RIGHT [removed:lang]

Called saying they were New Holland Investigations and someone had my social security# and was passing worthless checks --wrong - most banks check with depositors before cashing suspicious checks plus if you do not already, you should check your bank online everyday for checks, debits that are not yours - this is definitely a SCAM - go after someone that is not educated, but you can leave me alone.

I received an almost inaudible message from this number and I could not make out who they were trying to reach. I called a Chris Sims or (Simpson). The guy said he didn't call anyone by my name. I told them I could not make out the message and he continued to suggest I listen. I told this guy, why should I continue to listen when you just told me you didn't call (my name). He said and I quote, "Well I sure hate for you to be arrested just because you and your husband just went to dinner on a bad check." I told him I had not had any checks stolen, nor had I written a bad check.

I felt half way threatened! What's going on? Who are these people?

I think the name was something to the affect of "Fraud Investigations". Not sure.

I have been getting calls from these people once or twice a week for the last year, they are always looking for some person named Ursula.  Everytime they call I tell them that I dont know this person and to stop calling.  It has gotten to the point were I have started yelling and cursing at them threatening them with a harassment lawsuit if they dont staop calling.  Most recently today, after chewing them out and hanging up on them, the gal called back to tell me I didnt need to be so rude, so I riped into her again and hanged up.

    Fraudfinder replies to Joey
Joey you are one pathetic shill. Your company could only wish to have a VALID bad check to play with! Instead you can only play with instruments that are known to be past SOL, are known to be unreceivable due to legal reasons, are blatantly fraudulent or have been previously resolved. You got these "Accts." for little or nothing and now you hope to enrich yourselves using fraudulent and illegal tactics. If it weren't for the naivety of an embarassingly large number of the people in this country you'd be doing the job you were meant to be doing. Namely, scrubbing the bird [***] off bumpers at the car wash. For that I'm sure you're QUALIFIED. RELIABLE..? Probably not. People in your line of work aren't known for their reliability or intelligence. We won't even go into honesty.

joey...HEY [removed:lang] are you upset because im giving the people info and its hurting your business...GOOD..
i said that you dont go to jail if you write a check by mistake..yes your right if i went into a store and wrote a check out for 500.00 and the investigators seen that i had only 60.00 in my checking account for the last two months i will go to jail that is fraud but as i stated there is an SOL on nsf checks and fraud checks in kanas the SOL for fraud and nsf is 5 years.most all other states is 2-3 years and in todays world who writes out checks so that means the majority of your nsf checks is TIME BARRED..so you use your scare tactics to try and get people to pay and so that means your a lying low life sleazy debt collector..RIGHT [removed:lang]
also your sleazy company(NEW HALL INVESTIGATORS) is not registered with the BBB so that also means your a constant violator of the collection laws also you need a license to collect money and your not license in my state..
PEOPLE..dont let this [removed:lang] use scare tactics on you he is trying to collect on very old checks and he CANNOT SUE YOU always check the SOL on the check he is trying to collect on,, also ask him for his license number to collect money in your state and by law he has to give it to you and make sure you check it out remember your dealing with a lying low life..and if there not license you dont have to pay this FOOL.also you write about people going to jail for a nsf check you dont mention its for the people who purposely committed the crime you try to make it sound like everybody goes to jail for a nsf check, that why your a low life
[removed:lang] i will give you credit for doing some homework but were not talking about criminals you purposely break the law ...now your little tiny business is going to suffer more and im very happy...RIGHT [removed:lang]..

No [removed:lang], you're WRONG yet again. If the merchant demands payment and you don't make the check good the intent to defraud is PRESUMED. Look at your own Kansas statutes. Once you refuse to make the check good your original intent can only be PRESUMED to have been fraud. If it were a MISTAKE you would immediately make restitution to the MERCHANT. SOL varies by state and depends on the amount of loss to the merchant, number of checks, reason they were returned and several other factors. Any [removed:lang] reading this looking to get out of paying a check they KNOW they wrote should consult with a CRIMINAL LAW attorney to discuss the specifics of their case. Not rely on the FREE ADVICE of a internet TROLL. Right [removed:lang]?

Oh and look the Pettis County Sheriff picked up two people on 09/15/12 for passing bad checks, here's their arrest log:

    http://sedalianewsjournal.com/2012/09/15/arrests-9-15-12/

Oh and look at Clay Center, three people picked up in one day:

    Keep on trucking KING [removed:lang].

Hey [removed:lang]? Nobody uses checks? Well gee that's interesting. Maybe you should read the latest Federal Reserve statistics. Last year $126 BILLION of checks bounced. Yeah you're TOTALLY more reliable than the FEDERAL RESERVE.
