they called because they received a FAX with my name and info on it. So they are trying to varify the info before they send it to my home or place of employment. Sounds like a scam to me.

I received a message close to the one the others received. I called and spoke to one of the representatives there who had to transfer me to a case advisor. As a responsible individual I thought I knew the possible reasons they might have been calling for, but it wasn't what I thought. I'm glad I called I was able to handle it. They did inform me that they don't even make the outgoing calls that everyone is saying they receive from this office, but after listening to the message again no where in the message I received did it say the person calling was from Brinkman Alliance. There is a lot of information posted on here that's wrong. Even if you think it might be a scam, you probably should call. It's very irresponsible to ignore calls like these, all you have to do is be careful if you are unsure of if you trust them or not, but it is your responsibility to call. Even if it was a scam, it then would your fault for falling for it, they can't just scam you by returning a call. You can easily inquire what it is regarding and not give out a lot of your personal information. Chances are if you are avoiding calls and looking on here then you already know there are reasons you have that companies may be pursuing you, and by not calling to even figure out for yourself just makes the situation worse, especially since a lot of people who post on here don't know what they are talking about and haven't even called themselves to be trusted for advice

Well, JohnP, It sounds like you are one of their agents trying to help further the scam! Responsible people protect themselves and their families from such scam artists. Just because I don't answer a phone call from an unlisted/blocked/unknown number DOES NOT mean I am irresponsible, or avoiding the call.

Here's my advise to you, JohnP - GET A REAL JOB! Stop scamming people who are working and taking care of their business!

Complete scam. Wouldn't say why they were calling and that they need my SS number or would call my employer. Huh? Don't bother speaking to these idiots.

Wow wow received unknown # so i decided to pick up and they ask for my husband with a birthday of something in 09. Really?! Something?? So we went on i said hes not available and of course he told me that if he doesnt call back that they well come out and hand him court papers either he settle now or court and pay for lawyer and court fee plus what you owe which will be 2,000 hmmm oh and the unknown time they well come out and serve him. So GLAD i found this site! Oh yea and they say that they are from a law firm!!

I received a voicemail from this "legal office" from a guy stating he was a litigator. Right...It is against the law to threaten to serve someone with legal papers over the phone and also state that you are some kind of lawyer unless you are going to provide your state bar information. Just scare tactics trying to get you to call in so they can make some more threats and steal innocent people's money. If they call me again, I'll be contacting the attorney general.

I was at the hospital with my daughter who has Diabetes and i had left my cell in the car, when I checked it I had a message. The message went something like this. I am calling to leave a message for Joyce and this is Travis from  the liasons office. It went on to say I am calling to tell you that withing the next 24- 48 hours you are going to be served ( didnt say exactly with what) and that there have been to complaints against you by Brinkman Alliance and to call back at 855-972-6643. So after I got my daughter settled I called them back when I got home and a guy named Mike answered he said something about my place of employment and I said wait a minute I am disabled and do not have a job well then he said immediately well I will have Travis call you back in the morning are systems are down. I said Dont bother I know this is a scam and I will tell my lawyer. He hung up.  Are only income is my husbands I have leukemia, back, neck problems and I ripped the hamstring off my right hip almost two years ago at work I dont need this. About a year ago someone scammed my daughter the one with diabetes in a similar thing. There has to be a special place in HELL for these ppl.

Just received a call stating that a fax was received in regards to two complaints filed against me and that within the next 24h someone will be out to serve me with a court summons.  I called the number I was given and to my surprise received no response! What's the deal? I'm a stay at home mom with no income and this is fishy. Will see what happens tomorrow. Glad I find this website though

I was also given a reference number but they couldn't give me any info as to what the complaints were or whom from.

I got a call and the message, said it was Charles Smith and their office just received a fax to serve me with paperwork for 2 charges that are being filed against me with the last 4-digits of my SSN.  (He also gave the last 4-digits of my SSN).  Said that they were going to serve me at my work or my home within the next 24-48 hours.  (Today is Saturday and the message was from Thursday.)  And told me that I could contact the Department of Legal Services at 855-972-6643 if I had a more convenient time for them to come or had any questions.  What the heck?  They have my SSN!  If this is a scan, it's not good if they have personal info.  Anybody else have a similar issue?

Yes i just received a call like this too. His name was Charles Smith. He left me the exact message. I knew it was scam because they just trying to fish for more information.

They called me and stated they were a law firm in Michigan hired by a company in Indiana to file fraud charges against me. Stated I had bounced checks in a state I never wrote checks, And sinced I never bounced a check in any state I knew it was BS. Stated that I would be summoned to appear in court and I better show up to avoid prison time. Also told me I should call back if I wanted to avoid going thru court. This should be illegal, but from what a judge told me its not worth the trouble and never amounts to anything. Number was 1-855-972-6643

I had the exact same message left last week.  He said the last 4 digits of my SSN.  I'm not going to call them back but am worried abut them having my information.  Is there anything we can do?

My husband just recieved a call from 855-972-6643. From a Charles Smith stating he has 2 charges against him and will be severed in the next 24 to 48 hours blah blah. We went to our local police station and they confirmed this is a scam they have recieved multiple complaints about this company. When we called it back said all circuits were busy and then we called with a blocked number and it says it wont allow blocked number to enter it in. BEWARE do not give out your information! SCAM SCAM SCAM!!

I recv'd this phone call on Tuesday 16 this year. The man left his name as John Taylor stating he rec'vd the fax and I would be served next 24 to 48 hours. IF this was inconvient for me to call them back and reference case number. I did within 30 sec. Told them I just recvd your message and he informed me that his company doesnt make outgoing calls. He also use different first name yet same last name. When I told him that he sounded exaclty like him he stuttered and gave an excuse as he was sorry to have a familiar voice. He then went on to inform me this would be recorded both our safety. Told me about a bad debit I alledgely had and there were 2 charges of fraud against me .I asked who would be serving me and he said the US Marshalls!! I simply told him to do what he had to do and I contacted the non emergeny State Police as it was 5pm. I called the number back around 10pm that night and it went instantly to the beep beep this number is no longer in service bit. They too had last 4 of social. I also know that some companies sell you debits to other companies....BILL COLLECTORS use  this practice they purchase debits from companies that are generally written off or expired. I was scared will not even lie! I was familiar with the company they said I owed as I had been contacted 3 years prior, that was scam too! These are people just trying to get money and once they get enough negative publicity they will just buy another 855 number and try again. ALWAYS BE WARE

They called me at work saying that I had gotten a Check Advance back in 2005 they had my check number and the date the i made the check advance. They told me if i didnt pay the fines for the bounce check and the check advance i received i would go to jail..... When i finish my phone call with these people I check google a found this other people have gotten calls from them im glad i looked this up before making the mistake and paying the fines...... $$$$$ saved!!!
