nothing on line when answered, they called back again next day (I didn't answer this time)

a gal with an accent called asking for my boss. i told her he wasn't available. she said, well maybe you can help me. she was calling with Food Manufacturing Magazine looking to "confirm" his mailing information. i asked her to go ahead and please remove his name from their mailing list. i heard a "hmph" and then a click. she hung up on me. jerk.

Call comes up 'Cellular Call', not a business name. Woman with heavily accented English asks for my boss so he can confirm his subscription to 'Control Engineering Magazine'. I asked her to remove us from their list as our business has nothing to do with Control Engineering. She asked if 'I was authorized by my boss to remove him', that it was a free magazine, and that I only needed to confirm some information 'as his secretary' (not a secretary). Tried to immediately launch into questions. I interrupted her and told her if she wouldn't remove him she would have to speak to him directly and could leave a voicemail. She was insistent, I maintained she could leave a voicemail, she said she'd call back.

They've called back 3 times today and immediately hung up when I answered the phone.

Given that someone above said they were with 'Food Manufacturing Magazine' I would assume this is a scam to get information.

one day when I couldn't pick up they did not leave voicemail; another day when I did, there was silence then a click and strange noise (like lousy call center system switchover) then silence;  I have been "given" many free subscriptions to trade magazines (with lots of trade advertisers) and I suspect this is a call center and that they have to periodically confirm for their advertisers that they have qualified live bodies getting their mags

Went to voicemail. No message, only loud noise and voices in the background (like a boiler room/telemarketers).

My phone said the call was coming from Laos. Didn't answer.  No message

Called our business over the weekend, no message was left. Caller ID only said "Vineland, NJ" which is clear across the country from us.

No caller ID.  Rang twice, I answered, they hunug up.

tried to call. I didn't answer. They didn't leave a message.

Magazine subscription. Told them your number shows up as a spam and I can't connect you.

Never leaves a  message.
