Called at 8:30 this morning!  Did not answer.  Ridiculous.

This FDP NJ is a scam,hang up!

Called at 8:10 a.m.

We did not answer the phone because we were in the middle of something else. No message available. Reverse phone directory for white pages says the call came from Camden, NJ.

Others on this site indicated it was the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) calling for charitable donation?

We always check with the local police when we receive such calls. Our local pollice in southern NJ do not benefit from this fundraising effort and when they DO want us to donate, they contact us by mail or in person.

Received call at 8:15 AM - wanted donations for FOP -NJ.  Everyone looking for money.  Could be scam.

8:15am this morning.  Big Scam.  Have received similar calls before looking for donations to "state police fund".  Funny, no such animal.  If you want to contribute, there are forms available at you local police station.  No not give in to this Scam.

I received a call @8:39 A.M. today,September 20, 2010 from856-295-5627 and though they didn't leave a message for me this is way too early in the AM for harrassing calls!
I am on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY-for all the good it does-so therefore I should not be getting half the calls I do-starting with this. When I tried googling the # it led me straight here!

This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the New Jersey State Fraternal Order of Police. I have called the number.  It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there’s information on www.njfop.com, you can contact them there with any questions or requests.
The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for New Jersey police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.

Snow you are incorrect!  The FOP of NJ does NOT solicit donations from people by telephone nor do they phone call people at 8:15 in the morning.  This is 100% SCAM.  Hang up or do not answer if you have Caller ID.

I got a phone call at 8:18 this morning (11/16/10) in the morning from this organization. They called and when my answering machine picked up they did not leave a message. I know they tired to call me once before a few weeks ago the phone rang once and they hung up. I now know to never answer the phone on this number after reading this.

I also got 2 calls at 8:15.  The one from last week was at the number mentioned here (856) 295-5627 but the one that I got this morning was (856) 295-5642.  There is also the same complaints on this website for that number, so be careful with any numbers of this type.  DO NOT give out your credit card number, just tell the caller that you've already donated to your causes and please take me off your list.  I will be ready when they call me again, I didn't answer the call from this morning as I wasn't sure at the time if it was the number.  I made the mistake of donating a couple of years ago and then found a write up in the paper about these organizations and that the police organizations never solicit by phone.  I will never again give out my credit card number to anyone cold calling on the phone.  People be aware that these calls are scams, I hate that they rip off people that are kind but really need the money for themselves more and don't know that they are giving to scams.

I think FOPNJ stands for Fraternal Order for Police of NJ. My local precinct has told me that none of these organizations solicit by phone, so it's a scam. Ignore, ignore, ignore, and give directly to your local PBA. Contact your precinct for details. They do really good things!

This phone number shows up on my caller id everyday.  I don't answer the call anymore.  It is such a big scam.

This number is for the Fraternal Order of Police.  The automated call gives you the option to be removed from the call list.
