LOOK OUT!  THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM ROBO CALL.

i did not answer the phone, but a recorded, female-voiced message was left on voice mail:

"The new year is here, again, and we have some great news for you... You have recently applied for a Payday loan {NO I HAVEN'T)  Our lenders have given your application a second look... {NEVER GAVE THEM A FIRST LOOK)  ...and you are now approved for UP TO $1,350!  {WHOOPIE!!  NOT)  ...We hope this additional cash will help you reach your new year goal. To collect your funds, go to our Platinum Member's {OH... SO I PAID FOR A MEMBERSHIP, TOO????} approved site, at (WEBSITE GIVEN)  ...and use your approval code ##########.  Again, that's {WEBSITE), approval code ##########.  This pre-approval code expires in 24 hours, if you don't claim your funds. Happy new year's from {WEBSITE)."

Be aware that it may or may not be a telemarketer.  Instead, it could be a credit collection agency, doing anything nefarious to get you to call back, especially when they assign a so-called "code number" that then takes them to a file for a deadbeat who has long-ago abandoned the phone number that you now have -- after switching cable services / moving into a new home, etc.

The key is to never answer or call back for numbers you don't recognize.  If it's important, they'll leave a message.  If it's a scam or something unnecessary, it will usually appear right here in 800Notes... a terrific service.  Just use your phone's keypad to block all future calls from that number.  We use a newer model Panasonic that has the capability to instantly block any called, as soon at your phone begins to ring.  You can also block the number, after you check with 800Notes, if you suspect it's a scam, etc.

Exactly what RBY just said - robo call telling me I applied for a payday loan (NO WAY!!) and that I've been approved for X-Amount. I just deleted the message and blocked the number from my phone.

Called @ 9:00 AM today and left no message.  I have a lengthy (60 second) outgoing message on my answering machine that makes roughly 98% of spam/scam callers hang up before the message completes.  Thankfully, this idiot had enough sense to follow everyone else's lead, and I have another number to add to my blocked list on my Panasonic phone.  :-)

I just received the exact same v/m  word-for-word except the code was 2332. Upon searching under the company's name I found another number associated with these scammers: 469-646-4006 (this comment is posted with that number too so everyone can get tips on  how to avoid being taken by other fraudulent businesses. Occasionally a fake site is somewhat difficult to identify). When I went to the site I knew immediately it was a fake/scam. First, the McAfee logo is partially covering the company's name. Second, you can't click on the McAfee logo to verify the company's actually secured by them (this doesn't always mean it's not a fake. They could have a fake verification link or it could mean they securely send your info to their fake company). Third, the graphics are extremely poor. Fourth, there are several grammatical errors in the fine print such as, "newyearspay.com IS NOT IN NO WAY", "you are NO OBLIGATION to sign any agreement", "THEY ALL A short term loan... TILL". Finally, there are statements within their disclaimer that should cause anyone to be concerned, "Our privacy policy may change without any notice", "your information will be transferred to lenders and 3rd parties", and "can not guarantee you will be transferred to a lender by completing an application".  THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION!!

completely automated and recorded message from "carol" at "card services" - it's imperitave that i contact them regarding my interest rate.

Called me today.  My app MrNumber blocked it... and I'm happy for that after reading all the fun y'all have had with it.

Received a call from this telephone number. No message was left. Anonymous callback reached a telemarketing greeting saying Press 9 to be Placed on the Do Not Call list.

this number just called, As it was ringing I entered it into google and found this page.  No message was left to my generic voice mail - - guess it wasn't all that urgent, important or life threatening!  LOL

 Call from this number. No called ID, but says "New Jersey"... I rejected call but someone they left voicemail that was cut off .. something about credit loan ratings.   Called on cell phone -- blocked for both calls and texts.
