Rang 3 times then hung up

Calling our company every day, always hanging up, say they are with Google listing company.

These idiots called our business today at 1818 hours, long after we were closed.  Caller ID showed "Clemonton NJ" so I knew there was a 99% chance it was yet another scam artist illegally spoofing a number.  So before the answering machine could pick up I lifted the receiver slightly to connect the call and put it right back down again.  I blocked my number and called it back.  There was never any ring, just a long quiet and then a busy signal.  Yeah, scam artists alright.

My caller ID said INTERNATIONAL even though the area code is southern New Jersey.  It was a recording which tried to get me interested in cutting my electricity rates.  Of course, I didn't bite.

Recorded message say "This is a public service announcement about reducing your electricity rates ..." , at which point I hung up and blocked the number, although there is a good chance that the number is spoofed based on other reports in this post.

Id reads Clememton. Calls and calls back. Has to be garbage.

Got a call. They don't leave a message.  Added the number to the rejection list.

Called today.  I did not answer.  They did not leave a message.  I blocked the #.

Call to a cellphone.  Presumed telemarketer.

Really tired of all these cold calls. Scammers need to be shut down!

This one is making its rounds again, as a pre-recorded female voiced message will tie up your machine, about the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act that was "recently passed by Congress" (yea - in 2009, some 6 years ago!).  These cow-loving robo-terrorists provide fake "urgent" data to entice a response in order to steal your life, and your loved ones lives as well, by saying you need to press 1 to stop an impending electric rate increase or to press 2 if they reached you in error.  Regardless of what you do other than hang up and report the nefarious scum they will steal something from you if you respond in any other manner.

To make it even worse, the phone provider profits by providing service to the scammers and won’t shut them down as it would be lost income for that phone provider who also know the robo-terrorists are out there just by monitoring the bandwidth they utilize.  And the phone provider’s even make additional money (via charges for opening new services) by switching the robo-terrorists outgoing lines so a complaint about any particular number would be meaningless once the robo-scum feel it’s time to spoof any number du-jour.

Folks, it’s high time to fight back – contact your phone service provider and request to make your number a toll number for incoming calls from any “Out of the Area”, “Unavailable”, 800, 844, 866 or 888 numbers, so when robo-callers attack your privacy then they must pay you for your valuable time.  And for paybacks – identify the robos-cum and supply their mailing address to every junk mailing firm possible as there are lots of postcards in magazines. On the up side - this will help reduce the USPS debt.

Contact your legislators to stop the robo-callers – send them a complaint every time you get a call.  Tell them to stop the scumbags or you will elect someone who will!  And why not sue the phone providers for their inaction to pull the plug on these phone terrorists as well?  A fantastic class action suit awaits a great attorney team on this one, because it appears that neither Federal nor State authorities give a damn to protect us and openly permit the phone companies to continually profit from your life being interrupted.  I use a Panasonic KX-TG6844 phone that can block 250 numbers. The cost of $111 pays for itself if you use Verizon’s Call Intercept service (a $9.99 per month ransom plus federal and local taxes) in a year and you can drop the Verizon intercept service.

Contact the Consumer Union (Consumer Reports) site www.EndRobocalls.org and sign their petition to pressure the phone companies and lobby the government. It won’t cost you a cent!  BTW, recent news articles (early July 2015) indicate Verizon is going to screw us more during their attempt to deregulate communications services and fees which could cost us more by buying into their anonymous call intercept useless service, etc.

Number called here and robo blocker prevented the call from coming through. Called the number back and got dead air... perfect sign that this is a scam call.

More of the same Robocall Trash!! DNC system has LESS value than a good roll of Toilet paper. Your taxes hard at work, as always!!!

AL: Why do you expect criminals to use the DNC list?  Do you expect bank robbers to give up their trade, just because there is a law against robbing banks?  Duhhhhh.

This one came up as Laurel Springs, NJ for me. Didn't pick up, since I hadn't heard of it before.

Caller ID said "International", calls kept coming in everyday, then twice a day, today I answered it and some guy with an Asian/Indian accent tells me he's calling from Microsoft and that my computer was spewing out viruses. He said he needed to fix my computer and needed me to go to a particular website and download the software that will allow him to access and repair my computer. He first wanted my SS# to verify who he was talking to. That wasn't going to happen.
I had gotten a few of these calls before and just told him I didn't have a computer and had no idea what he was talking about and they hung up abruptly. The calls stays the same, the number changes often.
This time I played along, as if I was really trying to go to the website he gave me. (I wasn't even at my computer). I kept telling him it was trying to sell me a vacuum cleaner, and that I didn't need a vacuum. He kept on repeating the correct address and every time I described some fake webpage as if I was too stupid to type the address correctly. Each time he tried, the more I gave him a hard time saying his accent was hard to understand and I had to guess at what he was saying, after 7 tries he started to get upset and and I kept telling him to speak slower and try and speak better English. When he finally started to really loose patience I told him if he really thought he had an idiot on the line he was sadly mistaken and that if his scumbag ass spoke English he wouldn't be stuck in some [***] hole country scamming people who work a real job for a living. From that point on he just shouted something in his language and hung up. All in all I tied him up for almost 50 minutes in all. All in all it was well worth the 50 minutes of entertainment he provided.
They don't seem to know what number they called, because he kept telling me he needed the number in case we got disconnected, I never gave him any info. My guess is its a random robo call that turns to an operator when a call gets answered.

Called, I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message.  Blocking this number.

I swear I get at least two calls from these people a day! I try and block the number but they just call me from a different number. I've tried waiting on the to get a live person, but the call just ends! I'm so frustrated!
