       I received a message from that number. These scam maggots will not leave me alone.  I been getting scam calls and messages from all over the country.  I never respond to these type messages.  I just blocked that number and my scam list keeps growing.

Received a text as follows (why are you starving me?). Getting so tired of spam texts!

Do not respond to unwanted texts or emails from questionable sources. Several mobile service providers will allow you to report unwanted spam texts by simply texting/forwarding it to 7726 (or “spam”) to enable the providers to prevent future unwanted texts from the specific sender.

(If your provider is ATT, try the code "block")

However, in many cases, the text origin, as seen on your phone, is faked.  The internet domain does not exist, or the phone number may have been spoofed.

got a text sayin "Hey ! i'm looking to meet new ppl and i seen you on fb and though u were cute..txt me back @..."

For a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.
