- sherry| 2 repliesI received a call from this number saying they are with union bank and there is suspicious activity on my debit card??? Nope. I call back this number and nobody answers, just tells you to press an extension but none was given. I called back the phone number they left in their voice message and they want my birthdate, last 4 numbers of my social, for me to answer 3 questions taken from public records, and God knows what else. I told the woman I was not comfortable answering these questions to someone I did not know. I asked if I could just call the 800 number I know for the bank or the phone number on the back of my debit card. She said that would be fine, but those departments were now closed and would not be opened until Monday morning. She said that my card was on hold and I could not use it until I gave her this information or went into the branch on Monday. So, they can hijack all my funds until I give some stranger my personal information. They say they are trying to prevent fraud but it sounds like they are the cause of it.
- Caller: Union Bank???
- InflightThey say they are the fraud dept from Union Bank but I have no accounts with Union Bank.
- Caller: Union Bank?
- MBThe same scenario happened to me today and they knew some recent transactions on my account which seemed concerning to me since I had a feeling it was a scam. They asked for my birthdate, address, then wanted my pin. My debit card did get shut off which they said they did because they suspected fraud. I am calling the real Union Bank now and looking into it.
I am sure this is a scam. Do not give the people at this number any personal information. Good luck!- Caller: Union Bank
- OFYI - this is a legimate number from Union Bank. It's the main phone number for their San Diego building so calls made from their customer service (and other) departments only show the main number.
They may have a fraud unit in the building. I work with their lending department and the same number shows up regardless who calls from there.
Of course always use caution when providing personal info!- Caller: Union Bank
- Tired of itCID says "Union Bank 0". The 0 is actually a zero. It is a hangup on my unlisted number answering machine. I don't have an account with any Union Bank. I never heard of any Union Bank until reading the above posts. I suspect it is probably a scam trying to get personal information, like most unwanted calls.
if I get any more of these I will flash the switch hook and hang up on them.
NEVER ANSWER OR GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!- Caller: UNION BANK 0
- Union Bank ConsumerGot a call from 858-457-6000 asking for a call-back. I did not call. Called the customer service number on the back of the card. I validated some recent activities with customer service. They found an attempt to fraudulently use the card and cancelled it. Suggest contacting customer service because a thief has your card number; get it cancelled.
- SD replies to sherryI have verified with UBOC that this is the number for their fraud dept.
- UnknownMy wife got a call trying to get her social security number today, they said they were with union bank. They answer as Union bank on voice mail. NO T REAL BANK> SCAMMER
- OCCitizen| 3 repliesReceived a call from this number and they identified themselves as Union Bank and wanted to verify activity on my debit card. I also see others have said is a real Union Bank number but hackers and thieves can make it look like they are calling from any number. They want you to call back on is different number and that's when they get all your personal information. I never take these calls and I always call the number on my credit/debit card or call the bank's customer service. They told me this was a scam and there was nothing wrong with my account.
- UBOC Customer replies to OCCitizenI called the number and got the "enter your extension number" message from the automated system. I hung up and then I logged onto UBOC's website, got their number and called and inquired re: account activity on my debit card. There was some fraudulent activity on my card. They issued a new card after cancelling it. I agree with some of the posters, don't blindly give account information. By initiating the call yourself (you can always hang up on the call you returned and place a new call to the company/bank in question) you are eliminating the chance that the number is hacked/forwarded, etc. (Make sure you obtain the phone number from a reliable source, such as your account statement, their website, etc. not just the number someone gives you over the phone.) This was a real call from the fraud department from the Union Bank of California. Do yourself a favor and follow up on any calls from this number. It's in your best interest. It's not a scam.

- Jim NunnI received a call saying they were from Union Bank fraud dept and wanted my date of birth. I told them they were from Nigeria trying to steal identity .
- CessnaDriver| 1 replyThis is a bona fide number for Union Bank Fraud Department. If you want you can go on your Union Bank account on the website and find another number for them. I do think they have an 800 number.
They were warning me about fraud on my credit card. They were also very helpful-can't say the same for the [***] at Target or either of the police departments I had to call. Seems that they don't care about crime.- Caller: Union Bank Fraud Department
- kgThis is a fake number- it is not UBOC- I just called the 800 number to UBOC and they said nothing looked wrong with my account- and that this was probably an attempt to get some information. DO NOT GIVE ANY- just call UBOC direct.
- YDO NOT ANSWER!
HUGE FRAUD SCAM
Be very careful!
Called me on a holiday to talk about mysterious charges and wanted to know my social and my pin number!
Yeah like the banks would ever be open when they didn't need to be. Nice try. Take your evil somewhere else.- Caller: Union Bank
- nan| 3 repliesThe number and call are legitimate. I got a call from this number and there was indeed a questionable charge pending on my account. Still, to speak about your account, you should only call in on the number on the back of your bank card.
- Caller: Union Bank
- nan replies to nanThough, now that I think about it further. The company that initiated the fraudulent charges could also have been the company that was calling...to see if they could get me to type in my personal information. Regardless, you should ONLY call your bank on the number listed on your bank card.

- MaddieCDo not trust those saying this is a legitimate number for Union Bank. I received a call from 858-457-6000 yesterday stating a there was an issue with a check clearing my account. The caller wanted to verify my account by asking personal questions (my mothers maiden name, etc.). I declined. Went to the bank to check on this. Was told that there was nothing wrong with my account and that the call was fraudulent, as they would never call and ask for that information. And Union Bank confirmed that was NOT a valid phone number for the company. I called the number back and they do have voice mail set up identifying them as Union Bank (false). I managed to push enough buttons to have them read off names, however I couldn't understand them clearly and it was identifying another company.
- Caller: Claiming to be Union Bank (false)
- MaddieC replies to FlaxNo it is not a legitimate number for Union Bank. It is not at all associated with Union Bank...just scammers that have a message on their voicemail saying they are Union Bank.
