For weeks I've been receiving unwanted calls from "Citi" claiming they want to talk to me about my credit card. I don't have an account with Citibank, and saw that other people were receiving these scam calls too. So I blocked that number (877 587-5727). Today, 2 days after programming the block, I got my first call from 859 309-5126. I didn't pick up, but they left exactly the same message. These are the same scammers, or a robocall facility that is allowing itself to be used by them.

Gave me a phone number to call about my Citi card. I went online and logged into city to see if they had left me a message there and they had not. So I sent them a message indicating that a scammer was trying to get information from people about citicards.

Same thing, only this number somehow came in to my cell under a "work number" for one of my contacts.  Every time they call, it looks like my contact is calling me.  When I call  back, it s "citi bank".

I have been getting phone calls RELENTLESSLY from this number, with no one identifying themselves. Why are these companies allowed to keep up this level of harrassment?

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

I get calls from this number 4 to 5 times a day. I never answer because there is no name . They never leave a message. Its very bothersome.

I did get that call but it was actually for my NTB card they are actually citi
when they call to collect, but in your case maybe not. not sure if it is always accurate.

now they are leaving text msg on my cell saying they are from citibank & to call them about my ntb card. i have no accounts with citi or ntb. this is an illegal scam. reported.

Do not respond to unwanted texts or emails from questionable sources. Several mobile service providers (including AT&T) will allow you to report unwanted spam texts by simply forwarding them to 7726 (or “spam”) to enable the providers to prevent future unwanted texts from the specific sender.

TIP:
Put 7726 in your contact list, so you can easily forward those unwanted texts!

However, in many cases, the text origin, as seen on your phone, is faked.  The internet domain does not exist, or the phone number may have been spoofed.

sorry. one more comment. the sms messages come from an sms number 32592, which appears to originate outside the us, as it incurs charges for me even though i have unlimited texting.

(i canceled the reply since i'm not interested in incurring charges.)

I had the same experience as yours.

Just got a call from this number.  Left no message, and caller id just said "Lexington, KY"

I got two calls today, never before, no message.  Will block.

When I first got a call from 877 587-5727, the caller left a message.  I called them back to find out where they called from.  They claimed that they represented Children's place's store credit card which associated with Citibank.  They also asked for name and SSN. I refused.  Then I called Citibank credit account customer service and asked them to verify that number.  I was told that that was a scam.  So I blocked that number.  The next day, a call from 8593095126 called my home and left the exactly same message.  They have been calling my home for three days.  So just BLOCK it.
