This number is for Fidelity Investments.  I have investments with the Fidelity group, hence calls from this number are not uncommon for me.

they dial you and do not leave a message..... sounds like a problem to me

The number is from Fidelity Investments -- the consolidation/transferring of funds division. If you have recently opened an account through them, this is a courtesy call and they leave a message.

It is Fidelity and they may be calling for a number of reasons. One is that they check once in  a while to see if you are happy with your relationship with the company.

I'm a Fidelity client -- I called the main office after receiving a call from this number.  The caller was legit and works for Fidelity customer services.

I called back and it sounded fishy.  Didn't give my account information.

Claimed to be From Fidelity talking of mandatory investment changes to Delphi's 401k plan. Claimed 8-Mar-2012 was the last day to take action to avoid them. This was a call to my cell phone, which is not registered to Fidelity. Then asked for last 4 of SSN, Date of Birth, etc.

Gave (800)557-1299 as a callback number - years back this used to Fidelity but now "seems" to be a debt collection agency. Seems very suspicious.

Got a call from this number unexpectedly. I let it roll to voice mail, and they left a message.

It was Fidelity, and it was real. They were informing me about a dispute resolution. I did not need to provided them with any personal info, they were just letting me know the result of the dispute.

Getting an unsolicited call from anyone claiming to be from Fidelity should always be questioned.

Received call again from 859-486-2338 on July 12, 2012 and was informed by Keith that he was just informing me of a recent dispute. Keith asked if there was any questions I had and if I wanted to make any changes to my account.  I clearly told him I was not interested in changing anything.  
I do check my account every now and then.  I come to find that on July 19, 2012, there were a number of changes.  Why in the world would someone handle my account without my consent?!

Fidelity Investments, just because I am no longer with my former employer doesn't make it okay for you to mess with my funds.  What are you up to?

859 486 2338 called my cellphone.

859 is a Kentucky number.  Don't know anyone in KY.

Fidelity was calling me about my annual account review.  Legitimate call, just didn't expect them to call me from a number in KY.

After this number called me, I called Fidelity's number on their website.
They verified a representative talked to me.
You should do the same instead of trusting this.

It is a legit call from the Fidelity consolidating division.  I called them yesterday about a transfer to  a new account we had openened.  When I called back today they told me he was at lunch but would call back.  I gave them my number and 10 minutes later the person called from this number - I knew by his distinct voice it was the same guy I talked with yesterday so it was "safe."

It's a totally legit number. Fidelity called to have a annual review on my account.

I will not take 800 phone calls.  If they wish to give me important information, send it by mail.

Yes, this is a legitimate Fidelity Investments number. It was used by my portfolio manager (and he did leave a message).
