text message for a personal assistant to an ad I put on craigslist looking to do yard work. sounds fishyfrom Conn as I live in Fl.

calls on craigs list ads and tries to get personal information.

indeed a scam. I received a 3 page text after posting an ad on craigslist.

original text, word for word:
"Whao................ your advert of looking for a part time job? Are you available to run errands? I am looking for someone who can handle my personal Assistant and run business errands at his/her spare time. Someone who can offer me these services:Mail services:Receive my mails and drop them off at UPS (nothing illegal).Shop for GiftsSit for delivery( at your home) or pick items up at nearby"

But I've got an application on my phone that will block this, and many like it.

Yes I received the same text. Sounds very fishy

I just recreived the same message as conceened82. It's a scam because they live out of town so why wouldn't they hire someone local. I get a lot of texts from putting my ad for jobs wanted on CL so I always tell those people if they can't talk to me on the phone or tell me what company they are, I'm not interested because it's probably a scam...soon as I mention scam they never text me back about themselves. I aways say, if someone doesn't want to talk on the phone to communicate legitimately, they most likely are a scammer!

I got a 6 part text from 860-375-0473 when I posted in a job forum on Craigslist. Here's the first text, which I knew was a scam. Reverse phone lookup says Hartford, CT area and also says landline...not sure how that's possible since I received a text. When I replied to the texts asking for the texter's name and name of company and nature of business ...I got a text back which will be the noted as 2. below-

I was scammed by this person . And my bank an account closed due to this scam

I posted my resume on Craigslist 12-18-13 and I got a text from another number first (971-999-7539) The first message I got is as follows :Found your advert of looking for a part time job? after that I got suspicious and googled his phone number and found this site....THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME BEFORE I DEPOSITED THAT FRAUDULENT CHECK!  BEWARE OF JAMES KEEN AND HIS FRAUDULENT CHECKS HE HAS YOU DEPOSIT INTO YOUR ACCOUNT! THANKS GOOGLE! AND AS FOR YOU SCAMMER HOPE YOU ROT IN HELL!!!

i listed a job post on cl , then this number started texting me, then he got my adress and my name , so he said he will send me a chech ,and this morning he texted me again said ,you have recieved the check go and deposit it i will ask you to shop ,and i am such a silly went to bank and tryed to deposit it but they said the check doesnt exist , so i texted him back .he never answered again , i dont know if it was my luck coz the check didnt work
