Answered call and a pre-recorded message says "You can reduce your interest rate to 6 percent.  This is a limited offer and is your final call.  Press 1 for more information, or 2 if no more notices are wanted."  Well, that makes no sense as they just said this is my final call, so why press 2 to get no more calls?  No company name was given and no type of account, credit card, or mortgage mentioned.   I am blocking this number on my phone.  Scam alert.

It is also a robo call.  My call blocking device automatically blocks all robo calls and since my phone never rang, this is just some boiler room operation of lying thieves using a robot to generate random phone calls.

Never answer a call from an unknown number, especially if it's from outside your calling area.  There are just too many scamming thieves out there who constantly do this same thing, day after day after day.  The DNC is a joke, and sadly our government and the big communications companies will do nothing to prevent these scams on innocent citizens, usually the elderly.  I vote that Washington DC be cut loose from its moorings, allowed to drift down the Potomac, out into the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, and then on out into the North Atlantic never to be seen nor heard from again!!!  Hey, a guy can dream, can't he?

Got call for reduction of my visa card. After tapping 1 an india guy came on asking if I had any visa cards with over 3500$ usable credit. Told him to go to hell and hung up.

Robots call. Called to tell me there was no alert on my credit card. Press 1 to speak to an operator or press 2 to be taken off the do not contact list. I pressed 2 and hung up. In hundsight, this probably just told the scanner I was a real person, so do not press 2 in the future!

Got this call on my cell phone, which is only used by my family.  Said that my credit card was about to increase my interest.  Would liked to have made this scum bag accountable.

860-516-6331 called my cell phone at 1149 today, 20161209. I did not answer; they did not leave a message. Goggled the number and found this site. Thank you for leaving your comments. I will put this in my contact book as "a scam phone call not to answer".

Looks like they are busy telemarketing from this number based on all comments this month. Received a call on my cell but did not answer, caller ID says Bristol, CT. Glad iPhone now allows you to block calls.

Calls being made to my cell phone with no message left.  I am on do not call list.

Received a call today from this number on my cell phone. I did not answer as I never answer unrecognized numbers. Apparently, this is another attempt to scam folks by low life thieves so ignorant they are unable to find meaningful employment. If they want a job stealing from people they get a government job.

Credit card scam

Just like everyone else.  On do-not-call list, too.

The SCA (Spam Callers Association) gets a copy of the Do Not Call this and uses it as their primary call list.

If you really want to stop this type of calls, write a clear, concise, and directly to the point letter to all of your city, county, state and federal representatives. Tell them that the Do Not Call list is all but useless and you are tired of these calls, and that something must be done to put a stop to them. Even if you did not vote for them, tell them that you did, and that your next vote will strongly depend on how many times you get awakened in the early morning by unwanted calls. Ask them to please take action as soon as possible.

Then get yourself a call blocking phone. I bought a Panasonic model KX-TG465SK for my house that has 5 cordless handsets, and the base unit has the ability to store 3,000 phone numbers for $80.00 on sale at Costco. (It was $30.00 off, I think.) These are used as my personal Phone Book and Block List of unwanted callers. Once I put a number in the Block List, the next time a call from that number comes in, the base unit blocks it, and both the base unit and the phones do not ring. Which is very nice for those schmucks that insist on calling at 7:00 AM.

The handsets are cheaply made and only last a year or so, but the base is considerably better. Even if you wear out the handsets, the base will allow you to replace them with new ones. I am using two older handsets from a different model with this base, that I bought a long time ago before I knew that the handsets could be replaced and bought a new model. But the older model only had a 50 number memory, so it worked out better buying the newer one anyway. This also works fine without the handsets if you have other phones plugged into other jacks in your house. Just use the base as an answering machine \ call blocker.
