- blondie| 2 repliescalled home phone - shows as Newark, NJ did not answer & since my answering machine is shut off no message could be left
- Bob replies to blondie| 1 replyNo big deal with the answering machine, they don't leave messages anyway. Most likely somone after your wallet.
- RoyNo message left, will block future calls from this number
- Caller: NEWARK
- CTkec| 6 repliesI am in Connecticut and just got a call from this number. I do not answer if I do not recognize the caller-ID, then if they do not leave a message I assume they are a telemarketer and I block the number. So this number has been added to my blocked call list.
My phone number has been on the National Do Not Call Registry since August 2003 so if they are telemarketers, they are violating the law.
To block calls like this I got a Panasonic KX-TGE245B that allows me to block up to 250 numbers and/or area-codes. Panasonic has several new 2014 models that will block that many numbers. You simply save the CID to the blocked list. You can also block area codes by adding them to what they call a “Range List” (you are blocking the range of numbers starting with that area code).
There are several types of call blockers & call blocking phones. I suggest you get one so at least you only need to deal with any caller once. - Jambaloneysome lady named Elizabeth Coman, so she says, called speaking broken English and middle east accent asking about solar panels. I asked if she was from a non profit organization, but she didn't understand, so I told her she/her company is in violation of FTC regulations by calling me, since I'm on a no call list. She immediately hung up. I think she was calling to get illegal money to support Islamic State Terrorists. Scum suckers!

- Telco IT Man| 2 repliesI find some of the remarks posted about these ‘faux telemarketer calls’ amusing. I put together a software program that has logged over 500 of these nuisance calls since 2010. Those of you that let the calls roll to your answering machine, voicemail or worse yet answered the call you have just ensured you will receive more of these calls. Maybe not from the same number, but they’ve just identified your number as valid which almost assures more calls. Most of the initial calls originate from software (aka; ‘robocalls’) – once your number is identified as active, then a real person may be there on the follow up calls. If you have the capability to ‘block’ the number that called – that is the best action. If you don’t have a blocking option, keep a phone with caller ID close by and simply hit ‘talk’ and ‘off’ simultaneously. This will reduce the number of nuisance calls, but not stop them. If you really want to block them – in addition to several cordless phones available there is software that a layman can install. Of the 500 calls I’ve blocked, I've only added 16 over the last 6 months. So the message is simple – blocking works…. One additional note, using the aforementioned processes I seldom have a second call from a given number. But, when I do - I love it when "Number Blocked" shows on my 'Caller ID!!!
Additionally; The Area Code, Exchange or even the entire number displayed on your caller ID may not accurately reflect the origin of a call as many of these crooks use software that disguises the originating number.
PS: I think Call Notes should add a 'Call Type' for 'Spoof' or 'Scammer Calls'!- Caller: SCAMMER
- BootsDidn't recognize number, no voicemail. Sometimes people will call me on the Facebook messenger app, so I called back. It came up as Google voice.
- Caller: google voice caller
- Michael1If you just started getting these you may have recently stayed at a choice hotel or similar entity franchised by an indian owned firm that 'shares' valid numbers to these scammers. Usually a solar scam, computer issues or software licensing scams. This number is tied to the same scammers using the following numbers: 669-237-3575, 209-456-8745, 707-081-8170, 305-517-7286, 786-708-4154. Unfortunately, once on their list all you can do is keep blocking the numbers. And please share on sites like list to others avoid these losers.
- Becki| 2 repliesI've been getting a TON of these solicitation calls lately which is really frustrating since I'm on the do-not-call registry. This one is selling solar panels. The other calls, so far, have been mortgages and home owners insurance. Whoever sold my information to these people needs to get punched in the throat.
- Caller: Solar something
- Call type: Telemarketer
- NicoleI asked to removed from this callers call list...he told me "NO" and hung up the phone.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- DDidn't pick up but a voicemail was left of a man talking to someone else. He had a NJ accent and said "It's easy cuz of the culture." and then said, "Do work, son!" after which he hung up.

- MCG replies to CTkec| 5 repliesKeep in mind you have to re-add your name to the Do Not Call List every 5 years.
- Gunnar replies to MCG| 2 repliesNo, you don't. The DNCR is now permanent & has been for quite some time. The only time you'll have to re-register with the Do Not Call Registry is if you change carriers or address. Scammers & Telemarketers like to advocate re-registration because it will open up a 30 day window of opportunity for them. Watching simple minds looking for loopholes can be such a pleasurable pass time...
Be Safe. Be Aware.
Gunnar - Kathleen Pittithese people call mutiple times a day everyday and never speak not that I want them to
- Caller: never talk
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Dee replies to BeckiI'm with you! Wish I could legally punch these "AH's" in the face myself!
I have and pay for a hardwired home phone which is costing me $45+ a month from Verizon and can't use it because I keep getting interrupted with all these scum sucker, slime bag callers and have turned off all the extension ringers; so basically I only have my hardwired home phone for my home security system/police.
They've now started to call my cell phone. I was unfortunately one of the individuals who was caught in the Home Depot breach 2 years ago on Massachusetts tax free weekend; and that's where I'm assuming my contact information was sold to these scumbags by the people who breached Home Depot and my AMEX. Because these calls began, just after that and haven't let up at all.
It's unfortunate, but I just don't answer my phones (plural) at all. My friends and family have been notified to leave a message and I will return their call. Otherwise, everything goes to voicemail and they usually hang up and don't leave voicemail messages.
I also believe this vould very well be a marketing tool for all those new companies with their new call blocking devices. What a great w as y to drum up business, frustrate the hell out of us, then post their ads to this and other CALL COMPLAINT SITES. Anyone just think I'm paranoid? Too much of a coincidence.
To all you call blocking device entrepreneurs; consider yourself just punched in the face! - CCaller ID shows cellular call. Let the answering machine pick it up and they left no message.
