- Ihatestudentloanwhores| 1 replyI'm guessing it is a relative of Pioneer Credit because those [***] have been stalking me everyday regarding my student loans. Apparently, nobody's told these [***] we're in the midst of a recession.
Somebody called, she asked if I was there, I said yes and asked what it was regarding and she said she couldn't tell me and then asked if I was me.
I hung up on her.- Call type: Debt collector
- Mostly Running. Also suspect they are an offshoot of Pioneer. Actually left a message though, with a reference number. Business name was mumbled, but the din of the pit of other callers was pretty deafening.
- Caller: Three mumbled letters.
- Richard Ellis replies to IhatestudentloanwhoresYup, the day after I thought the 'ole stimulus check was going to arrive, a letter instead said, "we're giving it to the dept of edu." The NEXT day, I started recieving 6 phone calls a day and it was definitely student loan related. There is no way in he** I can pay right now. They got 300 bucks off me...

- Ms. VickieCall from 862-902-5129, no voice mail. If they are Pioneer Credit ... why the hell are they calling me? I already made payment arrangements with them and have made the payments they requested! I wish they would stop calling. I guess I will just save THIS number too with NO ANSWER and no ring either!

- carrolReceived a call from this number. Asked for my husbands ex wife. She lives in Florida and we are in Michigan. Asked what it pertained to and he said they had some business they were discussing. Sounded fishy to me but I gave him her phone number.
- Caller: pcr (caller id)
- Attained BrokshaJeannie left a message, asking for verification of current employment. She gave no indication where she was calling from. But, like so many others, I recently started getting harassed by Pioneer Credit over student loans. The bill was hilarious "$175k, please do not send cash"
No way I'd give my employment info to some anonymous caller. - MarshaCalls me at work alot. They are really annoying. Never gave them my work number. Then called HR complaining and hang up on them.
- Call type: Debt collector
- North DakotanMy husband told me that his parents received a call from this number and they asked for me. His folks called him to report the call. They didn't give the caller any details, only that they would let me know the number to call. I don't call ANYONE I don't know!
- SarahThey called me and left a message saying that someone used me as a reference and for me to call her back at a completely different number. Also, I have no outstanding student loans, so im not sure if there is a few scams going on here
- birdbrainsmy name was used as a reference and if i would call them back. Have no clue who they are. Did not return their call.
- Caller: PCR
- SmallBusinessLeft message at my work number, in the general mailbox. Not for or about anyone, just 'we're calling to verify employment'.
Umm, whose employment would that be and why would I use staff time to call you back on a different number than the one you're calling from? - nodebthereGot a call from this number. No message left. I called back to see who it was and a person answered "Pioneer Credit." I asked why they are calling me. I was told the call was probably a wrong number dialed to me. Seemed strange.
- Caller: Pioneer Credit
- JaguarI used to get called 3 times a day, if not 4 times a day. This same party calls my cell phone. I turned off my cell, so that takes care of part of my problem. I don't answer my phone, just call back legit caller from reading caller id. I am so under water in my student loans! In the old days, anyone looking at my situation would have declared bankruptcy. Obviously, bankruptcy is not an option, it gets me that Wall street banks can be bailed out.I'm not the brightest person, but this one is hard to reconcile.

- 862-902-5129| 5 repliesHere is the deal, they are calling you at work for a reason, you owe money. Keep ignoring them then all of a sudden your Human Resources rep will come to you and tell you they have received an administrative wage garnishment order, your taxes will be taken and of course phone calls. Use your heads you have a federal debt. I wouldn't want to be rude and play games with someone that has my SSN, credit report, and all the internet programs known to man. They can call your neighbors, relatives, friends by law, and as many times a day as they want. Be smart, answer id yourself and see how they can help. And we make 40-70k a year from you

- Anonymous replies to 862-902-5129| 2 repliesWriting in caps? How childish. There are laws against harassment. There are lawyers that handle annoying collection companies. These companies feel they are above the law. Eventually, they will get what they deserve. God is still in charge! His word says that you reap what you sow. So keep sowing those annoying seeds and don't complain when you get what you earned.
- Chris| 1 replyPCR called this morning and would not give me any information about their company until I verified the last four digits of my social and my date of birth. I refused and kept asking what this was about, she refused to answer me and told me she would call back tomorrow after I calmed down.

Here are the facts on garnishments and collections and student loans
1. These are still THIRD PARTY DEBT COLLECTORS we are talking about so the FDCPA still applies even though they are allegedly collecting on a federal school loan.
Right to dispute entire debt or amount still applies.
Right to demand debt validation still applies.
Right to demand cease communication still applies.
2. Once the dispute and validation processes are complete, and the 'debt' is validated, then, and only then is there no statute of limitations as it is then verified to be a federal debt.
If it is never verified/validated as a federal debt / ie: school loan, the state SOL applies to this third part debt collection effort.
The legal burden of proof is on the third party debt collector.
3. School loan garnishments are limited to 15% of your gross income by federal law, but they often follow the state law on garnishment if you dispute it.
For example, the maximum garnishment in Florida is 25% of your EXPENDABLE income. This is often LESS than the 15% of GROSS INCOME.
4. The above mentioned debt collector broke several state and federal laws regarding debt collection practices, and impersonating an officer of the court.
There are many legal loopholes to any given situation. You should consult an attorney for legal advice but whatever you do don't default on paying the attorney too! Just kidding, he or she will make you pay up front.

- Joe the Mediator replies to Anonymous| 1 replyDear Anonymous,
Some of the most noted script writers write in caps for emphasis, while I can't seem to remember ever seeing a child write strictly in caps. I would take a guess that you are young, female, well educated and in the literary pursuits or at least an English major.
There are laws against harassment and I encourage you contact an attorney to familiarize yourself with those harassment issues. These companies are not above the law, but bound by the same law that gives them the right to collect on someone's defaulted promise to pay some loan or debt which was I assume, also a legal and binding contract.
What they deserve is exactly in proportion to the service they render and that is to get paid on collecting a loan that was not paid as promised to the original entity, who no longer wishes to trouble themselves with excuses and further delays.
Yes God is in charge, but are we allowing him to be in charge within our own lives. When we start by judging someone for how they write, we do so from a position of strength or higher guidance and education. When we further use God's word to backup our first judgment and to further slander a person or business we know nothing about, we may be using a double standard and showing how little we know about the bible as well which also states "the borrower is a slave to the lender" and "own no man anything except the debt of love" (Agape not Eros)
It's only annoying because we can't pay or don't want to pay even though we may have the funds. We have already written it off in our minds and accept it to be a lie, that we owe the money. Therefore, they are bad and are trying to rip us off.
Of all the students in this predicament who can't pay school loans, how many go out on Friday night and other nights and drink beer and smoke cigarettes, have expensive cell phones, iPods, car payments, et cetera.
If the education was worth the money we promised to pay then we should pay as promised or make alternative arrangements. If the education is not worth paying the price, then we wasted our time, the Educators resources and we have truly learned how to follow in the footsteps of Bernard Madoff, AIG, Merrill Lynch and a host of others who feel they own no man anything.
