- Melanie| 1 replyI got a call from this number. They did not leave a message on my answering machine. My caller ID had it listed as BCFA, but a quick search came up with nothing other than it's a Greenville, SC number.
- cn| 1 replyIts a "Breast Cancer Fund." They want money. She claimed I had donated before and asked for my support again. I asked her where they got my phone number and she ignored me twice and kept asking for money.
- Caller: BFCA
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Doris replies to cnI got a call from them and they said they were from the Breast Cancer Society. I told them I supported our local Cancer Society so they asked if I would buy a pink ribbon. I agreed so they asked for my credit card or bank check. I told them if they sent me a bill I would pay it that way only as I had no way of verifying who they were and would not release any info to them. Gave them my address to mail a bill to me. Will see what happens since they called my office and gave them my office info.
- JmI got a call from this number, on my answering machine, she act if as she knew me. Using my first name then quickly hung. She had a foreign accent .

- SissyWhen I answered the phone, the woman calling said that she wanted to speak with the head of the household. I said that I was the head of the household. She spoke really fast, but I was able to hear that she was working with raising money for breast cancer. After several attempts at trying to interrupt her, I finally spoke very loudly telling her that I was unable to donate because I was still paying hospital bills for my husband, who had died from cancer. Well, she informed me that she should put me down for donating at a lower level (i.e. $15). I said that you did not hear me, I do not have money to donate because I was paying. . . (at this point I listed all of the hospitals and cancer centers that I had to pay off for my late husband). She acted as if she didn't hear me, and she said that she wished me a good day. No, sorry for your loss or anything.

- RhondaBE CAREFUL! I feel this is a SCAM. Received a call from this number today saying she was from Breast Cancer Financial Aid. She asked for me by name. I said "this is she" she said, "Oh, I will call you back later" I told her she could talk to me now and she just said she will call again later then hung up. I was suspicious of this call and when I dialed the number back, I could not get a connection.
- SarahI got a call on my work phone. First she asked for Marilyn or something, I said, "I'm sorry?" She VERY quickly said, "Oh, I'm sorry, will you go get the man of the house please?" I said no, this is a business. She said she would update her records and hung up quickly. Seemed very shady. That woman couldn't get a dime out of me!
- Georgia Martin| 4 repliesI have an unlisted/private number!!!! I hate unsolicited callers!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have absolutely "no privacy" anymore...... I don't care if it is a robo call.. The phone company should still be able to block the number!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- Caller: SOME BREAST CANCER SITE
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Badge714 replies to Georgia MartinThese days the only ones that make telemarketing calls are criminals, both foreign & domestic. Please consider looking into call blocking equipment for a landline phone, app for a cell phone. After a while things go back to quiet.
- Mike-in-MD replies to Georgia Martin| 2 repliesDid you check to see with your phone company if you can block this number? Or did you mean that your phone company should pre-emptively block all numbers that you do not want calling you? How would that work? Are you going to provide a list of just the numbers allowed to call?
There is a free service you can subscribe to if your phone company supports simultaneous ring that will stop the majority of robo calls. Your phone rings once then disconnects the caller. Search on "No More Robo Calls". In addition to the service it will also bring up links to external call blockers which can also help.
And by the way, if you really mean pre-emptive blocking of all robo calls by the phone company they are prohibited from doing that under the regulations governing common carriers. They have a legal obligation to attempt to complete all calls as dialed. - BigA replies to Mike-in-MD| 1 replyGee Mike, this is what we need, the phone company deciding which calls we receive and which calls will be blocked.
I mean what could possibly go wrong? - Mike-in-MD replies to BigAlol, you got that right BigA
- Rudy replies to MelanieI do not donate to any organization that solicits over the phone...EVER! Having said that, any charity I do donate to is researched prior to donating. The best site I've found to do that is guidestar.org where charities are rated on several categories.
