call from Abbeville, SC... didn't answer... I get so many of these calls... ugh!

Solicitation call to lower my interest rate on my credit card. I pressed 1 and spoke to a lady with a Southern Accent (I'm in Seattle). I asked her to remove me from her call list and she hung up on me. What good is being on the Do Not Call list if they still call and don't identify themselves?

Put the blame where it really lay's, with the criminals and illegal telemarketers.
The DNC works just fine. It is for telemarketers only and honest business does indeed abide by it. It is the criminals (which includes illegal telemarketers), frauds and scammers that do not. However, the Fed. DNC does not cover some survey's, Political or Charities.  You would need to check your states DNC laws to see if these are under your states DNC laws.  The fact remains that they are not automatic call blockers though and can not protect you from the calls that are criminal, illegal or fraudulent.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone..  You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.

When I answered the first thing the caller did was ask if how much credit card debt I had.  I asked the caller who she worked for and she said Visa and MasterCard.  Then I asked for the specific name of the company she worked for and she said Consumer Rewards.  Sounds like a shady way to get personal info from me. The call didn't last long and the caller rudely hung up when I asked to be removed from her calling list.  

Missed a call from this number. Glad to know it's a bogus call.

Yeah she hung up on me too. I wonder is it the same lady. I asked her what credit card do you have on your file, she said visa and mastercard. Intold her I do not have a card. She rudely hung up as well, no goodbyes.

Answered the call, didn't hear anyone answer. I said "hello?" a second time and they hung up. Sketchy..

Sounds like this Southern women calling from a "credit card company" has been busy pestering all of us today.
I too live in the south but don't have the luxury of hanging up on people I talk to while on the job.
If only... I am glad I didn't pickup..unless I know the number off to voicemail your call goes! :)
