It's a scam collection agency.  They try to collect ancient debts.  A word to the wise, if you're debt  a couple of years old or older it's written off on your credit report as bad.  Nothing you could do to change it.  And after 7 years its wiped clean.  Dont let this scam company bully you.  Know your rights.

I was divorced several years ago, and handled everything through an attorney.  I think a couple of things might have "fallen between the cracks," but if so, they are ancient and small.  Like previous comment said, this # is for weasels who buy-up ancient items, for ¢'s on the $'s, and whirl autocalls - and where they occasionally reach a live pickup will try to cajole what they can.  Apparently, they can dial a lot of #'s, pickup one, and others go without message or response if answered.  They pay so little, if a "CSR" can scare one or two folks into paying something during a full day, they've made money.  I've gotten to where if I see an incoming # like this, which I either recognize or am sure it's nothing of interest, I simply press the "end" key while it's ringing.  Suggest you do likewise.

    Don't Answer These Calls
It's CRA, a junk debt collector. They use dozens of phone numbers. Ignore them. The statute of limitations has passed on all the debts they go after. Don't answer these calls. If you do, admit nothing, not even your name. If they ask for you, ask them who's calling. They are so shady, they will likely hang up on you at this point.

    ThankYou
Thank you all for this info - just got a call from this number this afternoon. I didn't recognize it so I didn't answer and they left no message. I always Google numbers I don't know (a debt-dodger had the number before us, and even though we've had it for 8 years now we still get calls for him) and found this info. Thanks!

Seeing the other comments, it appears that other people have been receiving calls from someone wanting to fix their debt problems too. I've been getting a call from this number and number similar to it about once every two days.

I am running out of room to store all the number these CRA creeps keep calling me from! DO NOT ANSWER - it is a scam on old, old debts whose SOL has run out. I try to store them and assign a silent ringer so they aren't bothering me all day but these scammers have already used 11 different numbers to call me - then IF they leave a message its a threatening one telling me I don't realize how much trouble I will be in if I don't call them back. I really want to call back and talk to one of them and say - "wow, your parents must be really proud of the job you have landed - threatening people and working for the bottom feeders of the world! I bet they tell everyone how proud they are of you! And they probably put you thru college to end up here too!"

Just got a call from this number.  Caller ID said Greenville SC.  Figured it was a bill collector.  Didn't answer it.  I'm up to date on all my bills so I don't know why they would call me.  Probably an ancient debt beyond the statute of limitations, like some others on this blog have suggested.

I heard a recorded message when I picked up, asking for someone not associated with my number. I was prompted to enter a "1" or "2" (don't remember which) if the person was not available. I was then asked to punch another button if they had the wrong phone number. I did and the recorded voice offered an apology. Hopefully I'm now off their list.

Definitely trying to collect on an old debt.  REALLY old, like from almost 14 years ago.  Wow.  I moved out of the area serviced by Bally's (health club/gym) and they were supposed to let me out of my contract as stated in same.  I sent them a certified letter like the contract said, called them too, the whole deal.  So they reported my "default" on the contract to a debt collector ages ago.. and  it eventually dropped off my credit report.  Ya know, if I owed them, I would have paid.  I did what i was supposed to, but they apparently never did.    That old bill better not be back on my credit record now and you bet I'm going to check.  Scumbag scam collection agency is right.   :p

I received a call from a Chistine O'Conner looking for my husband on my work cell.  I was puzzled how she got this number and she then had the nerve to ask why I was being rude to HER!!!  She too said it was important that my husband call her tonight and wanted me to make sure he called her.  I said I would forward the message, but I can't make him call anyone back.....  she then hung up on me.  The other number she gave me was 954-543-4367.

I live in greenville, sc and this is actually a local call for me. I didn't know who they were and didn't answer and I tried to block my number and call them back and said the number wasn't in service. So when I looked on here I saw that maybe it was a scam or a debt call. I put this number into the local phonebook online and nothing came up.

I received a call from this number this morning.  The lady asked for me by my first and last name, gave me her name and told me she was with CR (I think.....or CA??) Associates; and that they had important documents for me and they wanted me to be aware of it.  I asked her what were the important documents.  She asked me if I could hold and that she would put a "partner" on the phone.  (At this point, I'm thinking this is a  bill collector but I thought I would play along since all my bills are paid and current.)  I'm on hold for about a minute or so.  This lady gets on the phone, introduces hereself as Ms. Jenkins and confirma that I'm me.  She says, I have some very important information for you that looks like you're not aware of, and I want to go over them with you............is this the last four digits of your social? As I'm advising her that I will not confirm anything without having any information from her, she's talking over me saying, I know "such and such....I know"...............she hangs up. So I have to wait and see if something's going to come up and haunt me from my past.  I will post in the future should anything arise from the call I received this morning.

    JEFF
Just had a rude girl from CRA call me. The usual you know, you answer and nobodys there then finally before you hang up they answer, becasuse they have so many other calls on dialer. At this point I know who it is because they are the only one who calls me now call every two weeks or so. After the fourth hello she goes through the same speech, asking me is this jeff then trying to scare me into accepting resposibility for an very old debt that is way past the statue of limitations. I tell her it's not mine which always pissses her off, thus elevating her rudeness to a much higher level. So now she's talking over me throwing out all kinds of senerios out on how it's not mine and they must have all the info on me wrong, ssi #, phone #, address, identify theft, etc, (which mind you she has never asked me to ever verify my ssi # or anything but my fist name). So today was the kicker, at the end of our conversation she threw out a 1099-C and the IRS will go after me.....That was a new one on me....a 1099-C...LOL. I cleared up my credit score finally a few years ago and actually consulted legally and was informed that bottom feeders like CRA will buy up old debt no matter how old it is or how small the amount owed and try to get people to admit it's their liability and go after them. DO NOT ADMIT IT IS YOURS, AND DONT PAY ON IT,,,when you do no matter how old or how small it is, your screwed and the clock starts all over again once you make any type of payment. Agencies that never send you a validation notice with how much you owe and just call to coax you into admitting it's yours are bottom feeders and will go away eventually. Hold your ground and stay strong these people are just Junk collectors.

My husband just received a call from this number!  He has never had a credit card in his name...there is nothing on his credit report for a credit card and they are telling him that he owes $3,000 and it is going to be turned over to the government if he does not give them his checking or savings account number.  How did they get his cell number?  This is a scam. Do not give them any information.
