These people have been calling me every morning for about a week. They call themselves CRA say its an important call that needs my immediate attetion but never state what the heck its about. They also state that I dont know the gravity of my situation. Anyone ever hear of them before?

I have no clue what type of company this is but i think it is a collection agency

It is a company called CCR (Credit Collection Recovery I believe)  They have been sold an old debt that is over 7 years and will threaten anything.  Ignore the call, don't respond, they will give up.

This is an old old debt collector. Do not deal with them They threatened my friend with the irs( I know how stupid) and gave her no info  and told her they didnt have to. just double talk and  threats. Then said a company and she hung up. Chances are the debt or whatever it is about to be taken off credit report. The debt was more that 8 years or nine years old that she new of.

I also received a call from these very rude people, they threatened me with IRS - that they were going to report monies I have received

Have received occasional calls from this # recently.  Sometimes just appears on caller i.d., sometimes a rep. leaves a voice mail - indicating caller's name, the company (CRA), a spouting a "file" number of several digits and requesting a call back.  Of course, I ignore completely.  I was divorced several years ago, and had my attorney handle everything.  Any debts, both then and now, were very few, all current, and small.  Either they are calling me from mistaken identity, or it is possible my lawyer let some minor item “fall between the cracks,” but even if latter, if there WERE anything, it would be small, and way beyond any time period for legitimate collection.  These folks buy old debt portfolios for a few ‘s ¢’s on the $’s, and then auto dial hundreds - even thousands - of calls, and a live rep. will get on-line if a live persona answers - then try to coax or threaten that individual to pay something.  A couple of collections from many, many calls can be profitable.  Apparently, when their live rep. gets on a line, other calls answered live will go untended, which is why nobody is there.  Sometimes they make a call with live rep., who may leave a voice mail, as they did to me today.  But whatever, ignore these weasels, because even if an item is old, or misidentified, giving them details, answering questions, etc. - I’m told - CAN result in possible restoration of collectibility, or at least, get you involved in a tiresome dialogue with them.  So always ignore completely.

No,but they call me on October 13,2010 and also never stated what the problem was.They insured that it was very important and needed my attention asap!

I have no debts and these people called my house. They would not give me any information. I told them I was on the no call list

Got a call from one of these fools today.  Threatened me about my old man.  I played dumb and told them wrong number.  What a moron, he told me he's done his part because at 11am tomorrow he wouldn't want to be my husband.  OK. I told him that at 11am tomorrow I hope he sits on his thumbs and not to call my phone ever again.  I laughed the whole conversation because I knew it was a scam...he should know better than to try and play me like a fool LOL.

Sick of this...now blocking entire area codes...pretty soon, no one will be able to get through, but, hey, it will certainly be peaceful!  LOL!

These people call every day and want it to stop!

its a scam a very bad one. they call from bahamas and nigeria. dont answer them they will never stop if you do. its not real.

they keep calling me and i don't know who they are i don't want them to call me anymore it is a harrasment call.. thank you

I am currently paying a debt to them, but after reading this, I am starting to doubt the debt is even real. They called this morning on my cell phone and left a message looking for my wife under her old married name. She is 100% disabled and is on SS so she cannot be collected on anyway. I may cancel the automated withdrawals on my supposed debt after I do a little research. Anyone have any suggestions on how I should handle this?

this number called my cell and left a message looking for my husband.  i didn't answer because it has called many times before and nobody was ever on the other end.  within 5 minutes after calling my cell, my mother called me and they had called my grandma's house!  she answered and a female named Heather told her who she was trying to contact and that either him or his spouse needed to contact her back immediately.   so i called them.  i was put on the line with a man named John Gibson, who said he was Heather's supervisor and she couldn't talk to me at that time but he would help.  i explained that about getting the calls and wanted to know what was going on.  he then proceeded to tell me that they had no record of a spouse for my husband so they couldn't talk to me.  when i asked why they were calling my grandmother's house, he proceeded to tell me that they had other means of finding ways to contact him.  that they had looked up his family members, in-laws and friends and that is how they came upon her #.  my only question to him was....if you looked up all of that then how the hell could you not know her was married?  you're calling an in-law he has!  not to mention...his wife's phone!  can you say SCAM ALERT!!!!!!  me and my husband have been together for over 13 years.  i know what bills he may owe or did owe and we have them under control.  and anything else that i wouldn't know about would have been under a different last name (he had it legally changed in 1999).  these guys are not real and even if they are.....anything they have would have to be so old there isn't anything they can legally do to receive any money from anyone!

I got a call today from these guys. He said his name was Joshua Freeman and he spoke like he meant business! LOL what a clown. If your going to use a fake name, then please dont use the name of the QB for the Tampa Bay Bucaneers. I hate that team. Anyways dont fall for this stuff. They dont have any legal power to do anything. If they call you at your work than report them to the better business bureau. They cant do that if you ask them not to.

They've called 2 days in a row now.  I only answered it today only to receive a recorded message, NOT identifying the company or purpose of the call but assuring me that it was very important and to please hold.  I was so offended that I hung up & now I'm glad I did!  I have no outstanding debts and never have, so this is a bogus scam.  Thank heavens for this site!

Ok so if this is a SCAM then how do they have both my cell and house number. House I have private and only have for the kids to use I never give it out. People on here say they call relatives, if that is the case how did they get hose numbers as well if its a scam? I have an outstanding debt from 13yrs ago that contacted me via mail recently so that is the only thing that I can think they might be calling about, I dont see how that can get that much info if it is a scam. And why would anyone pay on it if you dont know who you are paying Such as Jack.
