Caller rang my number, but hung up leaving no message on voicemail account, acted like a telemarketer.  I never answer unknown callers, if they leave voicemail, I may return the call.

I just checked Shrine Services with Google, they are indeed a soliciting company just as I thought.

No message on machine just a hangup.

This number showed up as "Shrine Services"  They wouldn't leave a message.  Is this a legal company in Tennessee?

They just called, and no one answered. How effective can their business be if they don't even bother to talk! What a riot...

this caller calls ever day and  ask for a party that is not at this number,goes for awhile they dont call then it starts up and lAST FOR A WEEK OR SO

When are these "charities" going to figure out that we have had ENOUGH!!! If we want to donate to a particular charity, we will do so. Don't give me this crap about what a wonderful organization you are.  There is a lot of need out there and we are free to choose the charities we support.  I do not support the Shriners.  I support others.  STOP CALLING ME!  All you're doing is pissing me off.  I will not give you money.

it's important to understand it's probably not the charity calling you, it some greedy slimy telemarketing outfit that the charity HIRED to call you.

This is a horrible loophole in the DNC list, since these tards are making a PROFIT for these calls, and the charities get relatively little.

This should help you understand why they are so annoying. You can let the charity know directly how badly the scum they hired are. And you shouldn't feel the least bit guilty about telling these scum where they can shove it, they are in it for PROFIT and GREED.

YES -they are probably telemarketers

YES  they keep 85%-90% of all donations they have received.  
YES - donate directly to the charity itself and tell them to stop using telemarketers.

BUT... Telemarketers
They are required to tell you they are telemarketers
They are required to put you on their do not call list for that charity when instructed to do so.

This might be a little off topic but I thought I would put it out there. Has anyone thought about maybe seeing to a "no means no" Bill. These people call us at all hours of the day and night. If we do happen to answer we are subjected to further calls from the number and if we happen to get a real live person they speak very fast and the only part you actually understand is "and all I need is your personal information". This seems to me to be a violation of sorts. Call it financial rape or even extortion since they do use threats, guilt tactics and smooth talk to reverse the answer of no.

By the way, has anyone looked into whether or not the Shriners actually do solicit funds by phone. I found nothing in their policy to indicate that this is the case. It could just be a scam.

How it Is Distrabuted is RENTING THE ARENA, PAYING THE PERFORMERS,& GETTING ALL THE CHILDREN TO THE SHOW. NEXT.. THE SHRINERS KEEP 75% TO KEEP THERE DOORS OPEN, AND TO BRING THE CIRCUS IN FOR THE NEXT YEAR, THEN 25% GOES TO SHRINESERVICES FOR  MAILING COST, KEEPING THE BUILDING GOING, PAY ROLE,PRINTING.. For children, no better charities than Shriners & St. Jude's.. Both have hospitals for treatment & research, are in TN; no child ever turned away bcuz of no ins. or inability to pay. No I am not an employee but mom of adult son born with spina bifida. Without Shriners and the years of care & thousands of $$ they used & care provided, he would not be alive today.
