This number calls my home every day. Never leaves a message and I don't answer it. I will tomorrow and report back to you what it is, if they will say anything.

I have gotten calls for 3 days in a row I called them back they said they are CDI and are a circullation company for news papers.  I told them to remove my number and that my number is unpublished she said ok.  We will see.

Called an hung up when message took it. My number is on the Do Not Call list. Annoying.

Do NOT give personal Info to any unknown numbers... that said. I did some resourceful hunting on this number. Here is what I found:

There doesn't seem to be any legitimate businesses in the area, so be very careful with this one. I may call them back to see what BS they spew out.

Called me from this number yesterday afternoon.  Lady said that she was from the Knoxville News Sentinel.  Said my weekend delivery of the newspaper was about to be discontinued because I have a balance of $12 due.  She tried to get me to pay over the phone.  Told her that there was no way I was giving some random person my CC info on the phone.

She was particularly not happy when I asked her if she was seriously calling me about $12 . . .  

When I *67'd the number, she answered "Circulation Development."

This number called my house at 9pm when I said hello nobody answered me.

called the number, said it was CDI....looked up CDI on the WEB and it is a division of Monster.Com?

Unknown phone call. We missed it and there was no meesage left on our voicemail. Called the number and some woman answered it by just saying Hello no company name or full name given. Nothing else was said so I hung up.

This number called my mothers house asking her to consider renewing her subscription to the local paper she had cancelled.  Girl was friendly when I answered and I asked her to remove my mother from their calling list.  Hopefully we wont hear from them again.

This number called me 3 times today.  The last time I finally picked up and they hung up.  I called them back, and they simply answered "Hello, Circulation development."  I stated that I was returning this phone call, and the girl on the other end asked me what paper or publication I subscribed to, for they represent many.  I stated that I was here locally (I live in the same area code), and she said that she would look up my records for the News Sentinel (local paper).  She asked for my phone number, of which I gave to her and she then put me on hold for about 1 minute.  After returning, she verified the name on the account and said that there was an account balance of $38, and that I could pay that over the phone if I liked.  I politely declined, but said I would look into why payment wasn't received.

I then called the News Sentinel to check on my account balance, knowing very well this was not correct.  After putting in my phone number, and house number, I was then able to hear what my account balance was, and my previous payment.  I had a credit on my account, and the previous payment was the same amount the girl told me over the phone.  I then spoke to a representative @ the News Sentinel and informed them of the scam that a locally group is running.

It would appear this is a complete scam.  

What they are doing is cross-linking phone numbers with addresses, and using the over-the-phone menus to verify account balances (or previous payments).  I suspect that is what she was doing while I was on hold.

A man called me from this number claiming to be from the Sun Chronicle and offering me a weekly subscription.  He had my first name. I gave no info as the caller id indicated this was a Knoxville, TN number.  When I questioned him about that, he claimed to be in Newark, NJ and tried to get me back to answering his questions about why I canceled my subscription. When I questioned why a local paper would have someone from NJ call, he just kept asking me the same question.  I told him I wasn't interested and hung up on him.

They can call you even if you're on DO NOT CALL list if you their client (newpaper etc) has sold to you before.

Have received a call from this # 865-622-4950   5 times according to my caller ID. When my son ( a minor) answered they dont say anything.

I would urge you all to report them to the fcc for do-not-call violations.  http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/donotcall/#howtocomplain

If they get a lot of complaints, it's more likely they will take action against them.

This number called me at least three times a day (week day and weekend)...and leave no message. Is is so anoying!!!!!!!!

I recieve 2-3 calls a day from this number according to my Caller ID.
I don't know who they are or what they want....It is extremely annoying.
I never answer and the never leave a message. Whatever happened to the
National Do Not Call List?? Apparently there is always a way to circumvent
the system !
