They have the wrong person, but keep calling. I am about ready to get rid of my land line because after 3 years they keep calling for 4-5 different people that I do not even know.
Very frustrating.- Caller: Vital Recovery Services

- Resident47 replies to PeggyTChange your tactics, not your phone number. To a ''not me'' case I always recommend putting the agency on notice, just as you would if you were the target and the debt claim was invalid. Send a ''cease-communication'' notice via USPS Certified with return card. This is the method promoted by the FTC and many consumer watchdogs, and the only way to set a legal landmine, as such a notice is ignored at their risk of a lawsuit from you. You may already be due some payback if you can prove you've endured abusive or misleading treatment in an effort to collect debt.

Whether you are called a debtor or some collector thinks you can flush one out, you have rights and options. Most are simple to exercise if you only learn how. The FTC and the CFPB can start you on your homework. See also if your state laws grant additional or stronger rights.

http://www.consumerfinance.gov/guidance/supervision/manual/fdcpa-narrative/ - Rug Pilot| 2 repliesI got a call on our car phone from this number. We have had the car phone for nearly 5 years. I assume this number belonged to some Chinese person in the past. We have been getting calls from various creditors when we first got the number. I wrote several letteers to the attorney general and creditors stating that the enttity who owns the phone does not do business with them and has no connection with the previous number holder. It took about a year and a half to get rid of the calls. Now they are starting up again. The City of Los Angeles called for this same Chinese person trying to collect a debt I assume. Funny, in CA it is unlawful to try to collect a debt after 4 years of nonreponse by the target. If they are calling our car they are not reaching the target and not getting a response either positive or negative. Their calls now are all unlawful.
- john replies to Rug Pilot| 1 replyI just make it simple. I don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number. If it is important, they will leave a message. Then, I search that number online, and if it happens to be a collector, I just save that number in my phone, and label it "collector1, 2, 3" and set it up with no ring. So next time they call, it doesn't ring, and I see it later, "oh, another collector just call, oh well"
- 2sleepy replies to johnThese people are my daily "wake up" call.
Please please tell me which phone has a no-ring option for a specific number? what is the name of the option? I have been reluctant to buy a call-block phone because it rings once while it recognizes that the number should be blocked. Your solution is so much simpler. - DirkMy home phone number got phone calls from this sucker twice everyday. I just called them and a woman named Margaret answered the phone and identified the company as a debt collector. She asked for my name and I refused to tell her. I don't own anybody debt and no idea whi they call me daily.

- F.GeislerYes these are a collector probably bought a list of old, old, old debts for a low price and have some minimum wage people on lines trying to raise the dead to get a few dollars. They call me about once a week ( after reading the above I guess I'm lucky !) The only debt I know of I had was wiped out for 35.00 in 2009 and that is the one I think they are calling about. Obviously they are a micro operation probably in some back-room.

- TuttiThe number belongs to Vital Recovery Debt Consolidation. They call almost every day. They're trying to collect on a six years old debt from when we lost our house. I have them listed in my phone as "Do Not Answer". I don't answer it and they quit leaving messages.

- TwoheyAfter suffering ID theft and getting the matter corrected with the three credit reporting agencies, this Vital Recovery Services AKA: Vital Recovery Debt Consolidation feels "we owe." Said we have to give them our social security number/s for the debt to be "excused." Don't think so.

- Charlotte 2If you don't recognize the number and they don't leave a message, do not answer. Check 800notes and when you see all these comments, block the number. Period. Don't try to figure out why they're calling you. They're scammers!
