I received a call from this number. It was from the infamous 'Tony' of Mitchells Communication Group. It said the same thing as others have heard, that it's not a telemarketer or timeshare....We NEVER fill out sweepstakes forms, so it's a scam.
As far as "Miss Kitty's" of Chicago...that is a tavern in Naperville, IL on Ogden Avenue. So, it must be someone that hangs out there.
said I won one of four major prizes. This was on my voicemail and I was given extension 231 to return the call. The phone number on the caller ID was different than the call back number. There were four calls and I don't know which came from this caller: two unknowns, one Florida call (305 362 5314), and Group Mitchell (773 288 8176). I don't know which is the culprit.
Got a call 11-6-08. the womans name was Evonda and said to call 866-222-1995 ext 239 and I won a car from putting in an entry. I called the number and an answering machine with her voice said to leave my name a the phone number that she called and she will call me back. If she did not hear from me she would have to go to the next runner up.
I have read the messages and challenge anyone to point out what did the caller say that was not true. BEWARE OF SLANDERING it may cost you in the end. Each person that have recieved a call from MITCHELL COMMUNICATION GROUP, LLC have complete a entry form as an attempt to win a gift that was being advertised. I do not cold call at all. It is everyone right to be cautions however if you are going to report my number explained what did we do wrong besides call you after you entered indicating you want to be called. I have Promoted and Adverstised for over 50 companies throuh out the United States for over 16 years. I have read these reports never have any of them stated that they didnt get what was promised from the company afte attending the promotion. Have a blessed day and if their are anyone else with question you may contact my office direct
Sorry, Tony, you can delude yourself, but I didn't enter ANY contest, especially one to win the kind of vehicle that I find obscene in terms of environmental impact.
Don't try to threaten anyone with slander. Your company, with whom I do not have an EBR, called my home phone and left 3 pre-recorded messages, in violation of my Do Not Call registration rights. When you can provide tangible documentation of every single persons's supposed "entry", then come back to the list.
Got the exact same call from "Toni" on voicemail. Called back saying I won either a Navigator (or $45.000 cash), $3,500 cash, trip somewhere and 32" TV. (they must have run out of the 37"??). Asked if I was married, I said no and would never put that on an"entry form". I have a domestic partner and he said "so your co-habitating", Long story short. Myself and Partner have to arrive in Northbrook IL today at 6pm for their presentation.. Of course I don't believe any of these calls especially when a "trip" is involved as they are scams so I googled the company name "United Travel Network" and the phone #, and voila.. Here it is.. I may go just to see the scam in action, and see how much they want to get out of me (an old couple in Florida paid $5,000 and later sued to get it back). We of course were asked if we have a major cc and make over $45,000yr. I work for an airline anyway and have no need for what they have to offer. I heard the fee to join is $5,000..
Received a call today from a "Lenita" informing me of winning 1 of 4 top prizes. Same story as everybody else. Did not enter any said contest. Thanks to this forum for informing me of crap calls.
Follow up: I DID report this to FCC and got a letter saying there is no violation. Tell me how tieing up a phone on the Do Not Call with 3 recorded messages without permission is NOT a violation of the Do Not Call act? WTF? Hello, FCC--still living in Bush-world of no regulation?
They called today, saying my mom had won one of 4 prizes after we had entered a contest some 12- 18 months ago. (we did enter a raffle for a new car at a grocery store, but it wasn't for a Lincoln Navigator, and it was 3 months ago) They asked to confirm 3 survey questions- over 28, married or live with a partner, and combined make over $60,000 a year. They said the same thing as everyone else here has reported- that they were opening a new branch in the d.c. area, and that we'd pay nothing but they would have the right to use our image for promotional purposes, and we'd have to come for a ceremony either tonight at 8 or tomorrow at 12.
"MY NUMBER SELECTED AS A WINNER OF I OF 4 TOP PRIZES EITHER A CAR TV OR WHATEVER. THIS IS NOT A TIME SHARE AND I KNOW YOU HAVE CHOSEN NOT TO RECEIVE CRANK CALLS CALL ME AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE TO CLAIM YOUR PRIZE. "
2ND CALL WITH SAME MSG........NO REPLY TO EITHER CLL MADE
Got a call from Myla congratulating me on winning 1 of 4 top prizes in a car giveaway that I entered 12-18 mths ago. She gave 866-222-1995x226 as her call back number. The extension is for a Michael Thompson whose voicemails asks you to leave your telephone number with area code and full name.
All the same info. I filed with the FCC too. I suggest all do it to stop these people. The lies, the pressure tactics - can't/shouldn't be legal. Also, if they are not telemarketers, why advertise for jobs as a Telemarketing company? http://cj.chicagojobs.com/candidate/processca ... 5&source=search
Heck, call 'em back too if your bored. lead 'em on like your interested and drop the call. Have some fun.
Mi call was from a "Sunshine Promotions" -- travel agency... They offered same 4 type prizes... 2008 Lincoln Navigator, $2500, 3-day/2-night Mexico or Vegas, or 32" flatscreen TV (not plasma).
They received my info from a "sweepstakes" entry from one of the malls or something, which I do recall -- vaguely, so they are not considered telemarketers as I initiated the information for their sweepstakes... You know everybody wins (most probably for the cheapest prize), and then, you have to commit to you and spouse to a 1.5 hr meeting at their offices to learn about what they offer as a travel agency. So, since everyone wins... say 1000's of entries, and the do the telemarketing thing and get 200 couples in who actually GO for something like this, they probably keep the big prizes (probably 1 of each) aside until their margins are met...
I got this call yesterday (12/3). They left me a vm saying I had won one of four major prizes, the Lincoln Navigator was the grand prize, they knew I was on the Do Not Call List, they were not a time-share or telemarketers. Because I actually HAD entered a contest to win a Lincoln Navigator I returned the call. The bottom line was that they said I had to come out to Northbrook to claim my prize. I said there's no way I was going to schlep out there and they hung up on me......argh. Why did I waste my time?!?
