Norwich University.  If you ever expressed interest in any of the programs and gave your phone number on a questionnaire, they will keep calling.

This is a response company. If you completed a request for information for a university (Ohio U, for example) they'll respond. Since you requested info, you opt-ed in to receive a phone call. They also give a different reply number 877-823-1113 x3253. In fact, it looks like this number is shared for different programs each using different extensions.

"Obnoxious solicitation agency" is the right word! I keep getting calls from Boston Univ.(866-232-0232) even though I explicitly stated I am not interested in their online program anymore. Calls happen every other day, during business hours.

This call is usually a response to their online website that you visited and when you download their pdf. file for information concerning their school and programs.

It is a credible responsive call and not a solicitation.

During the conversation, they asked you questions about your interest in the school and then attempt to provide helpful stepping stones that will lead you to a better application experience and placement as well as helpful financial aid and curriculum information.

It was a positive experience when I spoke with a member of their administration.

This is only obnoxious because when I completed the online form, in the notes I explicitly stated that I did NOT want to receive phone calls, and that I would contact them when I was ready.

I also sent an email stating the same, and yet the calls continue.

I don't know when they'll understand that they're harming their reputations and making it VERY unlikely that I will choose their program to enroll in.

It doesn't matter.  A lot of schools like Norwich, Phoenix, & AIU are for-profit schools and they have greedy admissions supervisors (sales managers) who pressure their admissions representatives (sales people) to call you.  Once they have your phone number, it's a wrap.

Sounds like this number is a sound candidate for one of my "number blocking" slots!!

they keep calling me and leaving a message that he is from Abilene Christian University

called yesterday and today, no msgs left

and today...

messages they leave are ambiguous and unintelligible...can't even ask that they STOP calling. the answering machine just says "admissions office"

This number keeps calling numerous times a day.  can not understand the message, cannot get anyone to answer when i try to return the call

Called last night and only left a message of a heavy breather.  Not sure really who it was. However I did contact BU about an online program.

I think this is a consulting company called Embanet.  They manage the online programs offered by BU and Norwich, among others.  I wonder if these universities are fully aware that Embanet is harrassing their potential students...I bet they wouldn't be pleased!

I recieved a call from this number about an hour after I requested information about graduate school programs. No voicemail was left, but I certainly hope they will not repeatedly call after I ask them not to.

Ditto, I have received AT LEAST 10 calls from them since January 8 after following a link and requesting information from a Univ of California on line education school that I found through US News & World Report. I am about to call Verizon and ask for a call block to be placed on them because at this point it is little short of harrassment. They hang up and do not leave a message - shady!

How do you get them to stop calling? This is very annoying!

For folks who are feeling a bit harassed, I would recommend taking the call and asking them to mark you in their system as not interested. My experience was that this company does take these calls very seriously. I also gave them a bit of information about what I was inquiring about (similar case to Sarah Bee) and discovered that they received my info from an education directory. At any rate, they were friendly and understood my frustration. Nothing shady at all from what I could tell and I haven't received another call from them since.

This is a message from George Washington University calling to talk to you about info you requested from them - even if it was in years past.
