Getting one call a day from this place for the past month. Told them to put me into their do not call list - apparently it did not work as they continue calling. I live in Canada, and this call comes from USA. Sometimes they just call to bug me I guess as there is no one on the other end!

I get daily calls from whoever this is. When I answer they hang up.  So, let me ask you all..what's the point of calling if they are gonna hang up?  Is there a logic to their madness???

I get multiple calls from this # per day. I am in ALBERTA Canada. They never call when I'm at home, or they call and I don't answer as I am avoiding an ex that has been incarcerated for drug dealing and wants to be back in our lives after 8 years. I finaly googled the # and found 4 good sites with information on the company. Try it and find the addresses in the posts.
I think next time I will answer and get an address for where they want the money sent (as that is what I hear they are calling for, false debt charges), and I will mail them all my junk mail, coupons, and such without postage from a corner mailbox. They will then need to pay for the postage on a letter packed full of crap; and it will be heafty for the amount it weighs, for my junk mail. If we all do the same, it's gonna add up. Let's see how they like getting scammed. Another thing I will do if they continue to call is record a fax machine at work, so when they call, they will think they've gotten a fax by mistake. I'll be sure to turn up the volume and break someones eardrum. Screw em, if you are a phone scammer you should be ashamed of yourself. In the charter of rights, we have many freedoms, why not freedom of the phone and freedom from harassment? (check out B).
(a) freedom of conscience and religion;
(b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;
(c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and
(d) freedom of association.
If we can stand together against a corporation of harassing scammers, we can bring them down. THEY CAN GET REAL JOBS!!!

I have a few thing to add...
The # seems to be calling Canadians from the USA pertaining to Capitol One or Bell. Switch your services and cancel your card. Let's boycott the companies. What will they do when the amount of mail they recieve without postage, and the lack of customers outweighs the amount of clientel they need to pay their employees? There are several other companies who will be willing to provide you their services and be happy with you as a customer. If it gets big enough, NO ONE will dare to jepordize their corporation this way if there is a chance you will go to the competition.
Here is what else I propose: Complain to your local media. Let's see it hit CNN and find out if the government we pay hard taxes to take action against this sort of harassment. This is a battle that will start small as we all gather, but will inevitably become a war with the demand that something be done. Lets see if Peter Harper will stand up for us. Fight with your brain and complain to the one source that will let you be heard; THE MEDIA. It is the right of each of us. Saturate them and we WILL be heard. Lets take down NCO and reclaim the right of our phones, our lives, and our FREEDOM. I personaly feel the NEED to bring down these rich aristocratic fat b@stards, and hopefully we see them in the unemployment line. Make your next search the local media NOW and start the revolution, or send the prime minister a message.

I too live in Alberta, but have no business association with Capital One or Bell. I still get calls from "NCO Customer Ma(nagement)" at least a couple times a day. Peter Harper? Stephen's brother maybe? Wish him luck!

most people don't remember this, but most phone Companies will block any number you ask them to. its a pain to call your phone company each time you have a number you want to block, but so is that F*#@ing number calling you every day. :)

The National Do Not Call List (DNCL) should be launched by September 30, 2008,
What to expect,
Telemarketers will not be allowed to call you, and as a result, you should receive fewer unsolicited calls. Calls made on behalf of organizations or made for certain purposes as listed below, are exempt from the National DNCL rules:

registered charities;
political parties;
nomination contestants, leadership contestants or candidates of a political party;
opinion polling firms or market research firms conducting surveys when the call does not involve the sale of a product or service;
general circulation newspapers calling for the purpose of selling a subscription;
to a consumer who has an existing business relationship with the organization; and
to business consumers.

They've been calling my house every 90 minutes between 9am and 9 pm. That's harassment. I called them and I heard a recording that said, "welcome to CheckFree" (http://www.CheckFree.com)

According to my service provider, we should try these steps:
1) answer the phone when they call
2) before hanging up, press *06
3) you will hear a recording
4) after the recording is finished press #01# and then hang up

This kind of perstering should be illegal.

just thought I'd let you know...I live in Canada..been getting this call as well.  Had my number changed and paid to have it unlisted...less than 48hrs later...I arrive home from work to see this number had called twice..once in the morning and again after 8pm in the evening.  No one has my new number except the phone company who provided it to me....hummmm..wonder where they got the number....sure looks to me like my own phone company must be selling this info...no one else has it...haven't had it long enough to give it out...

Hey!! Funny you mention that.  Same thing happened to me, so I called my phone service provider and they told me that when I pay for a unlisted number the only thing  the phone company guarantees is that they will not PUBLISH my number in the phonebook.  Isn't that just great!!

THIS IS DISTURBING, AS WE GET ONE TO TWO CALLS A DAY.  WHEN YOU ANSWER THE PHONE, THERE IS NO ONE THERE.  I ONCE WORKED IN A CALL CENTER AND IT SEEMS THAT THESE GUYS MIGHT BE IDENTITY THEIVES??? JUST A THOUGHT AS WHEN A COMPANY USES SWITCHES THEY USUALLY TAKE THE TIME TO UPSELL-SELL YOU A SERVICE OR PRODUCT.  HENCE THE REASON THAT I THINK THEY MIGHT BE A IDENTITY THIEF.  AS WHEN YOU CALL THE NUMBER BACK THERE IS A PRE-RECORDED NUMBER; WHEN YOU PRESS 0 IT DISCONNECTS. AND IT ALMOST SEEMS LIKE A CLOSED LOOP WHEN YOU NEED TO INPUT YOUR NUMBER TWICE... HUUMMM TIME TO LET THE GOV.-BBB KNOW ABOUT THIS ONE.

Not Identity thieves, just annoying. And hateful and unreasonable, I told them I work part time bring home less than $150 week and they still wanted $25 week.  That is quite a bit. Put you phone no on do not call list. Or turn them over to BBB in your area or theirs.

If you call the number back and listen carefully to the message, there's an option to have your number put on their do not call list. It can take 30 days for this to take effect so it may be a while before I know whether this has the desired effect.
