Got a call directing me to call the 866 number.

Got a call directing me to call this number and that it was an attempt to collect a debt. It was Publishers Clearing House calling for payment. Wrong person, address was wrong and they tried to push or immediate payment. Question everything!

Collection companies calling my place of business

These people called my elderly dad and insisted he owed money to another company, this upset my  Dad very much because my Dad stays on top of his bills and I know this for a fact because I make out the checks to pay them. These people need to STOP enough, is enough.

This is a collection co. as previous posts have stated.

Check into the Fair Debt Collections Act.  There are some steps you can take legally to stop the calls.  

I did this through a form letter that my daughter-in-law gave me.

Also, if you have a lawyer, check with your lawyer.

Called number back and get an answering machine only saying their normanl business hours are 8:00 am untill 10:00 pm est. the message is the same no matter what time of the day i call it. "publisher's clearing house" collection wanting payment.
I called Publisher's Clearing House 1-800-645-9242.
They are a clooection agency for PCH. Why the call-back number is just a recording PCH does not know but they acknowledge Allied Interstate as one of the older collection agencies.
Safer still to call PCH direct to pay any account!

Nick Fisher calling people with my last name; constant calling at all hours to cell phone.

I am calling about a payment that is 3 months over due in regards to accnt # PE11 ooo1 9735 for Figis Cashews & Pecan Mix. Send payment to avoid further collection activity.

I told the collection person that on August 9th, 2009 that the money I sent # 49719820645 was cashed  and this bill was pd in full. Please don't send or call any more.

These bums are like every other debt collector.  They approach large companies and buy receivables from companies for their clients over 90+ days old and either pay pennies on the dollar or agree to a percentage of what they can collect.  They then associate a phone directory with the debtor and try for a hit on all the numbers provided by the debtor whenever they first bought something from the company.  AFTER that doesn't get them anywhere, the collections company says, HEY, let's try the public phone records and try for a hit on the first initial and matching last name.  Which explains 90% of the calls on this board, I would guess.  The others are that the debtor may have lived at your address previously and the collection company is getting a hit on the address, when the phone number game doesn't pan out for them.

Constantly calling asking for yolanda. Asked them to stop calling... They never give up!!! Costing my mintues. I think it's time the government steps in and does something about this. They cannot call at all hours of the day and request that you pay some debt that you don't owe. This is becoming ridiculous.

I have a VA cell phone but recently moved to Hawaii.Have received multiple calls from these morons requesting Jose.I repeatedly tell them they have the wrong # and to stop calling me due to the 6 hour time difference.This morning at 03:48AM, the guy on the other end wanted to argue with me as to why I have a VA cell phone and he wasn't concerned about the time difference! Unbelievable!!

A guy who can't speak english caled from this number and said I owed $19.98 from Clearing house from 2 1/2 years ago! I told him I nver ordered anything from that company and he starting arguing for the money!!

said they were allied interstate collection that I owed $28 to publishers clearing house for old bill when I said i had there mailing adress in new your they said they needed me to mail money order to po box 6123 carol streem ill 60197 that they changed there bill collecting dept.

Getting calls from 866-235-7508 at 5 AM- PCH Collector: never had any magazines or otherwise from them! Calling the State AG office now- had enough fun at 5 AM.
