voice was disguised and hard to understand ,wouldn't give a name of company or personal name just left a phone numer.. not aware of how this number was obtained  it is my grandparents number and not mine.

Received a very harassing call. Man pretended to be a debt collector on an account that was paid. Said the name of the company was CCS and Associates. Extrememly HARRASSING and RUDE.

Got a capl from this company looking for my son.  All they would provide is a phone number and case number.  They did say something about CCS.  They called here a number of months ago and I told them I was invoking FDCPA.  I think they are doing an "end run" by giving it to another company.  I filed an FTC complaint.

just got the same call but she sounded like a asian lady and said that the message was regarding a complaint made against me in there office and I needed to return the phone call asap. Left the number and a case number. It just so happens that I am going through some legal things at the moment so I kinda freaked out and just about called her bk, but remembered it was a 866 number which usually is a company. So I decided to just check out the number on the net first. Lol they think their pretty slick ay!!! Cant catch me I'm the gingerbread man!!!

Have had a number of calls from this phone # - asking for a relative, for whom they have an outdated address. Finally decided to look 'em up, and I see there are several sites (besides this one) re the number.

CCS & Associates called my unlisted # for contact with my boyfriends sister who doesn't even have our # (that I'm aware of) they are bill collectors that stated they have litigation pending for her. I told them to remove my # since we are not associated with each other. I think this collection company fishes for last names that can be affiliated with someone they are seeking payment from and then calls hoping someone will lead them to the debtor

Received automated messages telling me to urgently call back without saying what it was for.  Then another hang up call. I called back, they were looking for someone I once knew. I asked that they remove my number. Then they called again. I called back and asked again. The receptionist got really nasty saying I was harrassing them by pretending they are calling me.  Wierd attitude.

Apparently they are also called called Hogan and Wienberg. Received a message from a James Wienberg stating that he needed me to call back to go over a 25 page report that I should have received, that I would have had to sign for. Or my employer would have had to sign for.....a supervisor would have had to sign. But he needed to talk to me because my court date was coming up very soon. I needed to have page 15 prepared to go over and he needed my statement for his client. Called back a second time and essentially said the same thing. 3rd call was from a female (from the same number) who said she was calling from H&W and that they were filling a law suit for check fraud (I literally do not write checks!). Just got another call from the same number saying his name and that he was going to serve documents either at my home or at work tomorrow but I had one more chance to call and resolve the issue today. Could these be the same documents I should have already received 2 weeks ago? There are no Law firms by this name where I live, so I am not sure where they are from. Guess I will have to let them serve me and see what happens.

Received call @ 12:00noon.  Message said he was an attorney (Case #1863709) looking for Luis Germino
for a law suit being filed by Mr Germino's employees and needed him to contact the 866-240-5433 number by closing time tonight. Was called from 1-8772693091

My Mom recieved a call saying that there was a civil suit aganist me and they wanted to know if I had gotten the papers yet. Left a number 866-240-5433 this is a total scam.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!!!!!!! I received a call today from a blocked number and a claim that I had an unpaid debt that I paid 6 years ago.  When I asked for the address, website information, ect. they got extremely irritable and gave me nothing but FAKE information that I could not locate anywhere.  TOTAL SCAM!!!!!

Please note these People are not a Scam .. I read this stupid ass thing, and called the creditor and followed the paper trail and found they Purchased the Debt. So to make it easy just call whom ever they claim you owe and follow the Paper trail. NOT A SCAM.

I got a call from this number man yelled at me said my husband was going to jail on felony fraud charges and called me names. When I asked who they were they would not share their information with me said they are CCS and when I asked for website they said they dont have one.

They're scammers.  You won't get served - if you were, they'd have already done so.  Not to mention, they can't just serve you if they haven't given you debt validation to prove that you owe the debt and that they are entitled to collect this debt.  Remember - if someone calls you about a debt and it's not yours, or it's paid off tell them they must by law send you a debt validation letter.  No proof of debt = no debt due.

Yes, they are a scam - if you owe on a legitimate debt, then they should send you a debt validation letter proving that you owe the debt, who the original creditor is, how much you owe, documentation that they are entitled to collect on this debt, and also a copy of the contract you signed for the debt, showing your signature.  No proof of debt = no debt due.

They're scammers - you cannot go to jail for a debt owed.  If they refuse to share who they are, then that is another red flag - legitimate agencies will identify themselves and give you info on their address also.  If they call back, tell them you are recording them so you can file charges on them for violation of the FDCPA.  Also tell them that you have reported them to the FTC, the FBI and the state's Attorney General (and do so).

We keep getting these calls, sometimes threatening, on MY CELL phone asking for my husband. ( I never answer numbers I do not recognize)... How they got my cell number, no clue..In one voice mail, they gave an address they had for us, which was totally wrong because we have lived in this home for over 35 years, so that was a dead giveaway that they are probably scammers....PLUS, we owe no debts, have never had anything past due, and owe on nothing.. we are debt free since 2010...everything is paid off with good standing...A+ credit rating....so another giveaway they are scammers.....But how the hell do you stop them from calling???

I received a call from this same number and the person stated they were a collection agency (CCS) that had tried contacting me via mail multiple times. They said I was being sued and gave me the particulars. I asked for the social security number and it wasn't mine.The individual was very unprofessional and when I asked for a manager he got worse.  I checked out the bank they said I was delinquent with and CCS and none of this information was accurate. I submitted a claim to the Federal Trade Commission 877-382-4357.

I called back and talked to "wayne" who was very helpful about "blocking" my number from their list.... I don't know if this is a scam or what but it seems if they really were looking to settle some lawsuit with someone that they would be a bit more concerned about getting a hold of them rather than "Ok, no problem, let me remove your #"..... oiy. They called my BUSINESS line several times and left "warnings". It was very very frustrating because the business line even has my business Voicemail on it. Silly people.
